I was instantly very impressed by this album. Blackie is known to be the master of recycling old riffs, but he seems to found new inspiration and there are tons of great riffs and vocal hocs. The powerballad Heaven's hung in black is one of the best powerballads ever written and Burning Man gives goosebumps from the first second, that's one of the most remomamble melodies since Europes Final countdown! There are no filler tracks at all and they seemed to found the joy of playing hard rock'n'roll again... this is together with Dying for the world and Crimson Idol my favorite wasp album...

I like it alot, Burning Man is awesome. To me it's the best album of the year so far. It's not amazing, groundbreaking or anything like that, it's just a really good album which leaves me wanting to hear it again.

I just finished spinning this album after a long wait trying to get it.

I must say that it is very good, very solid with all the tracks a standout. My fav's at this point would be Take Me Up, The Burning Man and Heaven's Hung In Black.

You gave this album 10 points less than neon god??!?!
C'moon, this album should be at least 15 points better than the disapointment neon god part 1 and 2. They were decent albums, but not the at par of what you could expect of Wasp.

I would gave neon god part 1+2 in the 70s area, while this is definately in 90+

This is indeed a solid album, but i dont think it reaches 90+/100. Certainly within the 80's however.
I do agree with the reviewer, about there is a lack of emotion from Blackie. I too expected him to be "over the top" emotional vocals, especially with the lyrical content...and i too was suprised by the lack of. Some of the songs arent as catchy as ones from the past, but that being said its still a good album. I do think Dominator is better than the Neon God albums, but it is hard to compare them to this...different concept, different sound. Dominator is more in the vein of Dying For The World or The Headless Children...both solid albums.

Actually, I quoted Neon God Part I (86/100) and Part II (72/100). Sorry, but there are other W.A.S.P. albums that even surpsss these three. Personally, my favorites are W.A.S.P., The Headless Children, The Crimson Idol, Unholy Terror and Inside The Electric Circus.

75 /100 is considered "very good" and the reason the quote is such is because there is nothing "outstanding" about "Dominator", which if there was, then the score would have to be 80-90.....why don't you elaborate on why u feel the album should be rated higher?

Well, I personally found it rather mediocre, mostly because of Blackies' voice which sounds very worn out and tired. Needless to say that compared to masterpieces like their debut, or the headless children, this one is simply non existent. It pains me to say this, since Wasp are one of favorite bands, but I think I hear retirement bells ringing...

Wowee this album is good! A few excellent songs and a few rock-solid ones. Blackie's voice does sound a little odd at first, but I'd gotten used to it by the second song.

Doug blair's solos on Deal With the Devil are amazing.
