Well, I can sing like.. quietly, I can sing ballads and such, but anything else nope.

I've been told I sing well, I took lessons until I was 12, then I just kinda' gave up.

I'll be auditioning for an early Anathema/early In the Woods... -ish band. This one: http://www.myspace.com/thesentience. Have also participated in a couple of local black metal projects. As for singing... yeah, I guess it's alright. Small range, but accurate.

No. I've had enough musical training (8 years of violin) to know just how much I suck, too.

I have a very loud and deep growl but my shrieks need improving. I sound like Varg when I lose myself and scream while we're plaing something together with my buddies and they say I'm good but I dunno, I hope to get my screams as good as Arioch or Imperial or someone equally awesome. My clean vocals are just plain terrible.

Well, I practice. I can sing pretty well, though I definitely have tons of room for improvement, and I can scream/growl any range.

I do an ok midrange/high scream after some beers. I can't concentrate very good on playing guitar if i sing, so even doing backing vocals can be hard for me.

i don't sing all that good.. sounds like shit - of course, it's sounds good if you try to listen to your own voice straight from the mouth, but recorded it sounds like shit..... and i believe that if you're a good singer you're good at screaming/growling too.. melody-wise.. everybody can scream, but if you can't control your screams/growling you'll end up having some very boring vocals, not to mention a sore throat.

i can only control my bm screams/shrieks a little, i'm afraid  ... but then again, i don't practice all that much since i have neightbours :D

Can anyone offer any advice on how to control growls so you don't end up with a injured throat?

I told my parents I wanted to drum when I was 5. By 8 I'd finally convinced them to let me (but only if I joined a marching band, not a drum kit like I really wanted) but only if I joined up choir. So yeah now I've been a prissy choir boy for 11 years, so I can sing pretty well. I don't really like to though, since I have an incredibly non-metal voice. It's good for singing coldplay or josh groban but that's no fun.

Been there, done that. Laphroaig works better, I find.

You imagine wrong. It's a lovely Scottish malt whiskey, very peaty. Kicks like a motherfucker, especially if you drink from the bottle. Like me.

I can't sing particularly well with my own voice, it's ok but nothing worth bragging about. The funny thing is that when I immitate other people's voices (like singers, politicians etc) then I can sing much better.
