Diet pills fucking suck. I'm surprised people still buy that shit. Sorry about that mate.
My cousin is in jail, for something he didn't do so I kind of feel your pain.
Damn, I'm sorry for your cousin. Behind bars even when he's innocent. How do people over there look at former convicts (sorry I couldnt find any other word to use)? Here in Malaysia, despite the government's call to give these people a second chance, it falls on deaf ears. Former convicts are shunned by society. The only people they can turn to is their family. On the other hand, with our Asian culture of being respectable and honourable, most of them are outcasted and ostracised by their own family members. I feel pity for the ex-convicts, those who have genuinely turned over a new leaf, so what more bout those wrongly accused? It's like their whole life is ruined.
It isn't such a big deal here but it does stick with you all your life no matter what. He is a ship captain and some of the crew let some refugees in, got caught in the mediterranean. He's responsible for the ship so he gets in jail too. He probably will get away with little time since he is innocent, but it will always be in his record.
Oh and my uncle who recently had cancer surgery (I think I mentioned him somewhere around here) keeps wondering why my cousin hasn't called him in ages. They obviously haven't told him his son is in jail in a time like that. Can you imagine how bad he must feel?
Fucking hell. I sometimes feel I understand how normal people turn into murderers.
That's really sad about your uncle. He's not in a situation to hear any bad news at all.
As for the guy who got jailed for concensual teen sex, damn he's fucked!!! State rules rulez!!

But hell, his family is gonna be taunted by humilation after this. His picture is in the papers!!
Are the press over there allowed to publish the sex offender's names openly or are there certain regulations against it? What about European countries?
In Malaysia, when it comes to sex offences, the name of the accused can be published in the papers, and also a picture. But if the offender is a relative to the victim (in cases of incest), the offender's name and picture are not to be released at all. It is to protect the victim from any sort of social stigma. If it's some brutal rape that led to murder, provided the victim isn't related to the offender, goddamn he has his passport picture blown all over the front pages.
