Interesting sidepoint: according to Metal Hammer, 3IOB were influenced by Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, and...? Suffocation.

The only time I have heard Suffocation mentioned in the same breath as 3IOB was in an interview somewhere...possibly blabbermouth. One of the members was saying how they don't really fit in with Roadrunne'rs current lineup, but hearken back to the old "true" metal lineup roadrunner used to have. Suffocation was one of the bands he menionted.

It’s a fucken wonder no one went up on stage and pissed on these guys just yet. I encourage you all to do just that. Say “hi!” from GD while urinating, ok? Embarrassing’n‘irritating vocals combined with some, among other things, lame ass Iron Maiden-esque guitars and Judas Priest’s “Painkiller” influences. What a fucken load of donkey semen. 3 inches of kangaroo cum. 2 sperm references in a second? Fuck off. 2

after two and a half listens these guys sound pretty good instrumentally, but the vocals are a bit hard to swallow atm (not that they're unbearable or anything).

as for the gimmick, even if they are (i wouldn't know) the music is still good.

I just thought that they were energetic but the vocals got old after "hey thats one heck of a falsetto he's got there" feeling wears off and after that there is no guitar playing or melodies that I found interesting.

moar like 3 Minutes of Entertainment (because making puns about their name seems to be the cool thing to do)

That was basically what I thought of them from the get-go, but recently I gave their stuff a new chance and I have to say some of their guitar parts are genuinely great. "Deadly Sinner" in the verse for one. I'll definitely try out this new one, I've been been buying a lot of new stuff recently.

Nah, I think it's more of the "Hey, look, we're a new band that sounds really old-school" that gets to me... It's like they're trying too hard to sound old-school. :\

maybe that's what they truly want to sound like. what about all the death and thrash bands that sound like they came straight out of the 80's?

I tried to give this album another chance today. Halfway through it I got so bored I stoped and switched with some Maiden.

I don't doubt it's what they want to sound like, but I'm just not one for new bands intentionally sounding old-school.

Do you know why they sound old school? Because they are fucking old! I saw them live and the guitarists are probably in their late 30s at least. They are old school headbangers.

So setting aside any percieved attempt to sound a certain way, this is great stuff. Highly recommended.

People are loving this album so much, I had to see what it was about. Been listening for about a week now. It's decent - the Cam dude has great voice, but I don't see the need for the other guy with the death metal screaming. Ruins it for me. It's like, here's all this soaring vocal melody, and then Boom! That other guy comes in and ruins it.

Disagree. First off, they're not death metal vocals, second I think he fits perfect. It puts more aggresion in the music, plus I like harsh vocals.

Semantics. At what point do "harsh" vocals become classified as death metal vocals? (or, death metal "styled" vocals?)

Second, I think not only does it not fit perfect, it f's the whole thing up they have going on.
