I bought it yesterday. I love it. If you liked the last album with the new male vocalist, you should dig this one. Personally I liked the original male vocalist better, but I've come to accept and like the new guy.

You can listen to samples of each track on their main website (http://www.battlelore.net) and two full tracks on MySpace (http://www.myspace.com/battleloremusic).

The limited edition with the bonus tracks ($9.99 here) comes in an embossed digipack with exclusive artwork. It's worth getting. "Doom And Oblivion" is actually pretty doomy, but it picks up towards the end. "The Tale Of The Downfall" is just an instrumental with some flute and naturelike effects and whatnot.

Thanks. Theend got it in recently and was contemplating an order. I value your opinion more than mosts here, so I ordered the digipack!
Plus I had the previous works, so had to get this one even if it was bad..lol
Just needed some reinforcement and motivation :)

I do wish there were more super-catchy tunes like "Sons of Riddermark," but I understand they're really not that kind of band. "Sons of Riddermark" is the song that I first heard by them, and what a badass song that one is!

That's a very subjective (and ridiculous) statement without any explanation.

Just because you disagree with an opinion/review, doesn't mean it's "crap".

Haha. Sorry. I'm very picky. Maybe "crap" was a bad choice of word. Haha. I love this album, I don't necessarily disagree with the score; there are just innaccuracies in the review. I don't have time to re-read the entire thing now, but I know some things I felt were factually wrong. I remember one thing being the review said there were no bonus tracks this time around. Obviously that's wrong.

Yes, I know you're "picky", and can I add unpredictable as well? :)
.... I actually had a feeling that you typed in "crap" quickly and really didn't mean it in a negative way. Still, thanks for your explanation.

Thanks for your thoughts. I don't have the CD quite yet, but am looking forward to hearing it.
Sean may have the version without bonus tracks, which is what I have ordered too (I think).
I personally liked how Sean described the amount of male vs. female vocals and the in-depth music style, but if you find factual errors on any of the reviews over at Metal CD Ratings, please don't hesitate to let us know. Just takes a quick email to us.

Actually, there have been a few instances where we (probably mostly me.... hehehe) have listed a band's country of origin wrong ---- Finland switched with Sweden (or vice-verca) is a common one. :D

I am not unpredictable! Haha. I am quite predictable. Go ahead and talk shit about In Flames—we all know what'll happen.

I have no issues with mistakes. In fact, just reading Ross's review of the new Tacere album made me realize that in my review of their EP I had put the male singers name in a spot where I most definitely should have put the female singer's voice. Like a retard I assumed her name was Karri, since that totally sounds like a chick name. In the booklet for the EP there are no pictures associated with the names. I didn't even notice the name Helena in their at the time. I saw Karri and assumed that was her name.

So, considering that, I just had to ask Adam to change my comment about the "boner-inspiring" singer named Karri to the correct name. The EP review is posted on their website. I wonder if Karri thinks I'm gay?

Well, since the beginning Battlelore had been saying there would be bonus tracks and extra material.

actually they haven't made a good album since Swords Song, the samples I heard from the new one remind me of the one before last which left me pretty cold.....

Yep...I have! I thought the review for Battlelore's Evernight was good. I've been thinking of picking that one up for a little while now. So, "Trooper of Steel" I just ordered it! great review. :dio:

This one's hard. Initially I hated the whole thing, but! There was just that something that made me come back, and now after six months of listening I must say, that if you love Battlelore you will come to love this album!

I just love the track "Longing Horizon"...
