Misery Index - Discordia

i hadn't heard it before, and from the first listen i think that it's at least on par with Overthrow (which rules, imo).

i stopped Discordia for a while to listen to Shroud by Cyptopsy. i can't believe i hadn't noticed this song yet, it rules!

Mid-period Cryptopsy is extremely underrated. Worth checking. On a similar note, I need to listen to more Misery Index, didn't see what was so special last time I tried them.

Soilwork -- Bastard Chain

A Predator's Portrait is my favorite harsh verse/clean chorus record if only for the really nifty guitar playing.

same, although for me its probably because soilwork were one of the earlier metal bands I liked because I'm pretty sure if I heard another album just as good as APP in that style I wouldn't care for it :P

Negura Bunget - Om

have been playing this alot the last month... i was rather dissappointed when i gave it a spin the first time. I though it seemed too random and had mediocre ambient tracks... but, i quickly began to love it. Awsome...the only little bit i don't like that much is the first 3 min of the 4th track where the riffs sound exactly like Opeth on Deliverance or Blackwater Park, can't remember which track though (maybe i'm wrong)... it just seems a little out of place imho, luckely it flows into something else, that doesn't have that Opeth sound to it.
I was actually working last month, and when i was at work the only thing i could think of was to get home so i could listen to track no. 10

wish i knew what the fuck the lyrics was all about... according to the coverart the concept is.. hay and herbs?!?

I still can't get into that album. I can tell they're doing something really good, but it just goes way over my head.

I did an interview with Negru last year. The main concepts of the record are Romanian folklore and esotericism. He didn't go too in-depth about it though.

Translations would be cool.

SYL - The New Black

A bit disappointing after Alien. It's like a crap rarities album. The only really good track is Wrong Side, the rest are merely ok.

I thoght Far Beyond Metal was the best one on there. But yeah, it can't compare to Alien.

I do think songs like Polyphony and Almost Again are absolutely stellar.

Burzum-Han Som Reiste

Strangely brilliant. Varg could have had a career in videogame music.
