...not really, but that would be a damn good job. On a serious note, I have no idea...

Opening my own Graphics shop would be pretty cool. I'd work till 2AM and sleep till 3PM, and play blasphemous music all the while.

Eventually starting my own software development firm would be cool.

I want to be a bear, they just sit in the forest eating berries and kick the shit out of everyone when they feel like it. Plus they get to sleep for the whole winter.

But I guess I'll be a game programmer if things go in the direction they are currently going in. Which is not nearly as cool but pays better.

I've always liked doing that type of thing.

Crazy cat lady.

I want to be doing philosophical research in the areas of environmental ethics, or something more exciting like the problem of animal minds. Make the world better y'know, protect the natural heritage of all life on Earth and think seriously about our non-human cousins. Then I will publish a paper that will only have a narrow circulation and fade away as a crazy greenie, to be quoted by fellow tree-huggers for about fifty years after my death in obscure brochures, provided that we won't choke on out effluent, cook ourselves to death or simply nuke the Earth before that happens. Oh and goats, lots and lots of goats. I love goats.

One day I will be calling a game between the Maple Leafs and the Canadiens and I will call Brahm out. It'll be great. But seriously I can do it. When we use to play any sport as a kid even if I was playing I would be the announcer. Hell I would play goal and when someone scored I called the whole thing.

haha I used to pretend announcer when I was a lot younger, I wouldn't expect anything less from a hockey fan.

Well, I guess I'm the old fart around here! I have a family and I work in special education. I work primarily with children diagnosed with autism grades k-3. I'm 38, so it's burning me out to say the least. I'm considering going back to school to get a two year degree in gaming development/simulation and design. It sounds much cooler and much less stress.

It may not be too bad..I work better under pressure and deadlines. Are you working in the gaming industry now? What should I expect?

I'm a developer but not in the gaming industry, but I have some pals who are and deadlines are a lot more tighter, so you gotta be ready to work long hours. In my case I get long weeks once in a while, usually before delivering a module or new software to users.
Developing is not as easy at it seams, sometimes I'd rather do physical work than think all day long. Mentally it's pretty rough, more than I imagined 7 years ago. Make sure you really like what you do because that's what gets me through my days. It definitely is rewarding work though, not always monetarly but personally.

When I say I announced while playing goalie, I meant outside on the street. I would be goalie and I would call every pass and every deke, another reason why I would be good as a Hockey announcer is because I know so much about every team. I may love my Leafs but I know a lot about every other team.

All this hockey talk is getting me excited. Only 49 days until puck drop.
