Without him I never would have discovered Insane CLown Posse.

He also enlightened us all to the fact that nobody really dislikes Metallica, they are just told to.

Funny how you guys still talk about Ken, especially when he isn't here. :lame:

I like everybody, Zad, Rad, Brahm, flying_guitars, Husker, grandbazar (<-is that his name?), pyroman, Kathy, American Idol I could go on and on. I know I could't stand V or Steffan.

I'll second that. Everyone here is great. You all handle disagreements incredibly well and most arguments, for or against, always seem to be well thought through. This is a great place to talk metal.

So, here's a round on me! :dio: ....(now if we were only in a bar  )

I wish a lot of the old posters would come back. Rad (posts seldom), Dee, Ken, Adam (he'll be back), Aaron, Misha, Phyrwolf made his first appearance in this thread in ages, WinterIsComing (LOL), Wanks, Daniel, emperorblackdoom, RC, hell even HolyTerror coming back gives this place some life, Slayer came back, OFC, and where the fuck is Kayla...

Mike's busy working, I think Kayla was moving house or something. Aaron was busy with school (and I think he lost interest in metal, from what he said last time he came back). Misha's working and studying, ditto Daniel (and he's pretty non-metal now).

It's interesting to see how often people who were mainly into black metal go completely non-metal. I've seen this several times, not only on these boards. On the other hand, I've never seen it with people who are strongly into traditional metal. Would any of you picture Brahm, Radagast or The Voice going non-metal? Any ideas why this happens?

Perhaps it's because black metal is so far out on the fringe of metal, and often has so many non-metal influences. You also see the same thing you mentioned happen to many black metal bands. Look at Burzum and Ulver.

I agree with Mintrude. Despite the fact that people accuse it of being elitist and close-minded, there are so many musical directions it could take you in. If you were into Aborym and DHG, for example, you may end up listening to industrial, and if you were really into Mystic Forest you could end up listening to classical. And that's not even mentioning all the post-rock stuff that Misha became obsessed with :)

Really. Maybe he'll comeback soemday. And by the way, Daniel can be contacted through his RYM page if anyone wanted to say hi. I would, but he left round about the time I came back, and I doubt he'd know who I was.
