Excellent and spot-on review, two thumbs up. This one's an easy 92 for me though, it's one of my favorite 80's hard rock albums and almost as good as SWW. The songwriting is absolutely fantastic and not to be overlooked either is the stellar musicianship and overall execution. My only complaint would be a slight overabundance of ballads; Living in Sin, Wild Is the Wind, Stick to Your Guns and I'll Be There For You all are total and unabashed ballads, and Blood on Blood is pretty much a ballad as well. Not that they're bad, not at all, but still a li'l too much for my taste. In any case, the three first songs on the album + Blood and Blood and I'll Be There For You I must've played upwards of fifty times. Funny you'd mention Born to Be My Baby as being perfect for karaoke, I've actually karaoke'd that one myself once (always sing along with it when playing it @ home too).

I can't believe they actually rated this band, it is METAL reviews, right? Bon Jovi suck hard dick, just commercial pop 'rock.' That this band actually said that it's bands like Venom who give metal a bad name is stil hard to stomach.

 I didn't know that.

By the way, reviews for stuff like this are nothing new, there's plenty of hard rock reviewed on here. Not long ago Firehouse's s/t was reviewed for one...

I agree that BJ are a poor band, but they are 80's overground metal, and this place has reviewed lots of Rock. So, you're wrong.

Look, if they rate Dark Side of the Moon and AC/DC, it's fine, that's classic stuff. But BJ are too shit to be mentioned here. The only reason for it is that there wasn't a lot to review this week, and space needed to be filled.

Did you read the review? Did you see how highly other BJ albums were rated? Again, you're wrong.

Bad Medicine is a cool song STFU. The fact that the newer Bon Jovi albums have received such high ratings is rather surprising though.

Hey I remember when I was all about the "if it ain't true, fuck you" attitude. I guess I turned into a pussy :(

But seriously though Bon Jovi aren't as good as say Pretty Maids but they do have some great songs. New Jersey just happens to be one of those cds where the cool songs outweigh the filler.

Haha, look how low we rated them on the user ratings thing

Sweet, sweet album, and not just because of the saccharine qualities of the songs. Its a a given that a sucker for big overblown rock anthems like me would like this record. I personally think this is Bon Jovi's best. Slippery has the mega hits but I don't know, overall this one just is even bigger and more explosive as a whole. Lay Your Hands on me with the gospel-wibe in the preaching and crowd-pampering is just total awesomness.

Also, I will always support the kind of dastardly shamelesness of having both songs as pantie-appealing as I'll Be There For You and on the other hand, as lewd and crude as Love For Sale, on the same album. Bands like Bon Jovi, Poison and the hair-lot really excelled in this.

Ah, a hair metal fan. OK, that explains things. I really hate that stuff, I mean, whenever I bother to watch VH1 rocks (only rock program on any channel on my TV) they fill most of it with hair metal and it all sounds the same. And of course, then there's the fact that they look really gay in the videos.
