Notice that there is a correlation between socio-economic class and obesity. Poorer states tend to have higher levels of obesity.

Like the article said, cheap, filling food is generally bad for you (it's the "filling" part that's important - apples are generally inexpensive, but don't make a meal). School lunch programs won't do crap, in my opinion; one slightly healthier meal a day isn't going to help if they're eating mostly crap at home and aren't getting exercize. Besides, what's to say they don't bring lunch from home, anyway?

Being a bit fat is fine, in fact it's natural. But this rampant obesity going on in some places in the world is horrendous.

I should lose a little weight. I'm carrying a few extra pounds of holiday weight at the moment.
