While bands such as Warrant, Slaughter, and the pitiful Faith No More sold out stadiums during this time period, this band went virtually unnoticed. Can’t go wrong with 3 guitarists, outstanding vocals, addicting melodies, and a progressive twist. There’s not a bad song in the bunch, and the 1987 self titled album is only a small step behind this one. Too bad the original vocalist is no longer with the band, he is certainly one of my favorite hard vocalists (along with Danny Vaughn, whose Waysted album is also featured this week). However, Leatherwolf did recruit Jeff Martin (Racer X) to perform on the “comeback” studio album due out later this year. That should be an interesting listen.

Great review on this record, I couldn't agree more.
I am currently reading Fargo Rock City by Chuck Klosterman which is a good read and covers the 80's metal scene and the one band and disc that he never mentioned was Leatherwolf and the masterful Street Ready, their first disc also rocked.

Without a doubt the best "80s hair metal" album ever!!!

And arguably one of the best "car CDs" ever...

How can someone not want to singalong at songs like Street Ready, Thunder, Too Much and... You know what, just put down the whole freaking album right there :P
