I've been meaning to pick that up, but I get a bit of a "should I be listening to this?" feel from them. It's the vaguely poppy sound, I guess.

That album is more poppy than the others. The first two (Second Stage & In Keeping Secrets) are much more Progressive.

I've got In Keeping Secrets, and so far I'm getting a much more poppy feeling from that CD than either of the Good Apollo's. I'll have to give it more listens...

Heard about 50-ish albums so far this year and these are some of my favorite. Of course I still need to hear the new Helloween, and give more time to the new Iced Earth and some others.

Its Spellblast - Horns of Silence. They are kinda Elvenkingish, not as good as older Elvenking, but much better than the new. Damnagoras even does vocals on a few tracks.

And yes Galahad is very :dio: I Could Be God and the title track are immense.

What? I think the complete opposite. Their latest two albums are much darker and more progressive than SS and IKS.

I'd say there is more prog and it is heavier aswell.

For sure. Gravemakers and Gunslingers borders on being metal.

Right on. The cover looked like it'd be something I might like, but I couldn't read the damn name. =) Thanks!

That song is totally :dio:, one of my favorites by them. But, I've given IKS a good four or five listens and I can definitely see where's Legacy of the Night is coming from...just listen to 2113. But, at the same time, IKS is definitely poppier than the Good Apollos, which have a much darker atmosphere--especially Part 1, IMO.

2113's probably my favorite Co&Ca song. The Crowing is also pretty progressive... Hell, so is the title track, Cuts Marked In The March Of Men, The Light & The Glass, Backend Of Forever... More than half of that whole CD is pretty progressive if you ask me. The last couple albums seem to have more of a concentration on poppier songs.

You've also got Three Evils and A Favor House Atlantic, which are probably the most poppy songs I've heard from them. But, I tend to think that a lot of it is a pop/progressive blend. But it doesn't really matter...they still rule :dio:

It's pretty funny that an alt-rock band rife with pop overtones has so many people calling the prog. Coheed is one step to the left of Alien Ant Farm.

You talk tosh, Sir. In sound, perhaps you're right, in songwriting skill, no way.
