Love Charon, and I'm glad someone finally reviewed it.
The review is pretty much spot-on, but I think Charon is good at both fast and mid paced songs. Colder is the perfect exemple of an excellent mid-paced song.

I definitely 2nd that sentiment! Good review for a good CD. I really like Charon too. I think Charon do the H.I.M. "thing" (Goth/meloncholy rock) better than they do. In fact, I would throw To/Die/For in that ring too. This CD is a really great CD for the style/genre it is. Good stuff.

I discovered Charon trough this album (first read the review of course), and then got some of their other albums a few days later. :dio:
I must admit that they sounded great, as Raven said, like Him but better and heavier. The vocals, guitars, songs... everything. Had them in my cd player for a week or two, sang the choruses in my head, and everything in my life was great

:D

And than it all stopped
Just got bored. Totally. Now I can't even think of listening their albums again. The same happened a couple of years ago with Running Wild. I guess these bands don't have the "weight" to keep me listening for more than a couple of days. But that's just me :D

You'll be playing there stuff again in no time. You probably just need to be in the right mood. When I want to listen to some catchy heavy music Charon seems to always pop up, usually their Tearstained album Downhearted or Songs of The Sinner hell even Dying Daylights! The singer has one of the greatest Goth voices I ever heard and Poisonblack's first album gets lots of playtime from me simply cause of him.
