are they christian? I thought the album was about some metaldevil of some sort.

A friend of mine said something wise once (he is a christian by the way):

I really could care less about what a band's religious affiliation is. Hell, there are some songs I love that are explicitly about the songwriters spirituality, but the minute it becomes a device to "spread the gospel" is when I'll turn away in disguist.

Not surprisingly, I have no problem with Corey Taylor telling the world how fucked up religion is, because he can support his claims with logic, science and history. Christian self-righteousness can only be supported by blind-faith, which just isn't enough for a lot of people and, it mostly inspires hate and spite for us non-deitiests.
