These people often tend to think that they're been victimized, exploited and not appreciated. First of all, why were they made to feel that way? Was it peer pressure? Parents being too strict? In the case of the Omaha shooting, I feel the kid must have had some shelling from his parents prior to his rampage. Kids nowadays.......

Oh, let's hope the cops don't find any rock posters on his bedroom wall or we will have to start explaining all over again.

Some people were never taught the value of individual human life. He seems like a rather egotistic, self-pitying prick. The person who took care of him seems nice, but she could have introduced him to a community counselor.

It's a product of this fucked up society. Not really his fault.

90% of the people live in a fucked up society but you don't see them freak out and start killing people do you? Honestly, I have no respect whatsoever for this kind of people.

You can't blame society for everything. Your character and personality can be molded by society, I won't deny that. But it's up to the individual himself to think what's right, and what's not. It's all about being confident and disciplined. Even in a fucked up society, a person with rational moral values can survive that society no matter how fucked up it is. In these type of cases it's just the matter of the person not being strong enough mentally and emotionally.

I'm within walking distance of a place where somebody was stabbed multiple times, had his throat slit, and then once he was dead had his head cut off and thrown into a river while his body was burned. Apparently I also went to high school with the kid who did the killing and butchering.

That has a certain air of social determinism there. Sure, society affects us greatly and we must not dismiss the influence. However, most people are exposed to the same society and turn out fine. Hence, it is likely that a different factor triggered his rampage. Fucked up society influence could have made him value life less, but think about this - he wanted to be famous, and who makes murderers like him famous? Yeah. Right now the media is granting that weasel his final wish out the wazoo.

I think that basically everyone - the shooter who was a douche, to the government who makes it too easy to get gones, whatever raised him to be suicide/fine with killing people, etc, etc - are to blame and assigning it all to one of them is kinda silly.

I dont get it, if i wanted to be famous for killing a bunch of people i wouldn't commit suicide. And if i wanted to commit suicide i would just do it, not take a bunch of people with me. I just don't get why anyone would want to shoot a bunch of people then kill themselves.

(I DO NOT want to kill people or commit suicide btw)
