I got it, such bullshit. I wanted to try the towel trick, but I decided that it would hurt more than it would help. So now I am waiting on Microsoft to email me back telling me what I should do.

Damn, almost as long as I've had mine. Fortunately I haven't had any problems with mine, but they say Mass Effect is a 360 killer, so I'll have to be extra careful.

Shucks. I bought my 360 about two months ago. And even though I haven't had the Red Ring Of Death just yet, the fact that you got it despite buying your system just a few months prior concerns me.

Seriously, you would think Microsoft would've taken care of this by now since it's been a problem with the X-Box 360 since it first launched.

I read the topic and thought it was some mosh-pit reference. Needless to say I'm no Xbox owner :)

Emailing doesn't do shit, i suggest you call Microsoft and tell the operator what happened and he/her will most likely say that you will be contacted by DHL and that they will come to your house and pick up your defective Xbox which will be sent in for repairs and it should be returned to you within 2 weeks. Good luck!! :dio:

A friend of mine just had that problem and they sent him a new refurbished system. This red ring of death problem happened to everyone I know who has an Xbox 360... not really something that makes me want to buy the damn thing. The system has been out for two years and it still has hardware problems. Thats what I call a crap system hardware wise.

That may be true, but it has all the games i want for the system....well almost all the games i want anyway...So if i have to get a new 360 every 12 months (that's how long my first 360 lived anyway) i'll just have to deal with it  .

The solution is simple.

You dropkick it.

It thus becomes a perfectly good door stop.

I got Mass Effect like a day before I had the RRoD problem. I have only played for an hour, it's so goooood I want to play.

I finally did get a response to my emails, and they told me to do that exact samething you just said, call. I havn't yet, but I will throughout the week. It's weird because the place here in Ontario that they take them to get them fixed is less than an hours drive away, but it will take me anywhere from 1 to 8 weeks to get it back. That's bullshit.

I'm planning to get the 360 next year, but stories like this have made me a tad apprehensive.
