I was a bit hesitant to put that tag, but the more I thought about it, it is needed. Because to people who follow this scene (sludge/stoner metal), this is one of the top names. I'm sorry if it doesn't meet your definition. Try to remember, it might not be a major event to you, but that doesn't mean that everyone else feels the same way.

It's a major event, for me, and an oustanding album in the doom/stoner field... That's the reason in is my list of the best of the year in the doom voting thread.

Is this really stoner metal? I didnt hear much of it but the samples I heard it kinda sounded different than the usual stoner metal material.

Stoner metal is a pretty vague genre since it can be applied to everything from Yob to Electric Wizard to Witchcraft :o

Yeah, its a tough one to describe. I usually think of it is a sped up version of stoner doom. Whatever it really is, High on Fire seem to be the patron saints of it.

Um...yeeeah...I'm going to have to go ahead and sort of...disagree with you there...yeeeah

They're both really good albums, but to me this album is an improvement across the board (production, songwriting, vocals).

Sure, it might be an improvement, but nothing reached out and grabbed me this time around. I'll give it a few more listens, either way...

My main problem with this band is that the albums are way too long.

Wohaa!

New great records from both entombed and high on fire. It must be xmas. I hope they play some more in Sweden soon. Last time was just after Blessed black and they sure where high on fire. One of the best shows I´ve ever seen.

I hope it´s better then Behemoth´s latest, I regrett I bought that one.

Ya know what? This CD is pretty mediocre. The riffs are almost all generic, not much energy. Blessed Black Wings had better songs.

+1 (except for the part where you say the previous album was better)

I beg to differ good sir. Rumors of War and Turk are pretty solid even if you didn't like the rest of the album which I do.
