Not talking bad about Turkey but it seems like if America did this it would get criticized even if it was justified like it was. I think Turkey needs to be commended for actually showing dissatisfaction with terrorist groups unlike the other countries in the region. It's odd though that the article said there were no casualties after all the air raids.

I just never know what's going to happen next over there.

Wasn't the US trying to convince Turkey not to attack?

That's what the article said. The area they attacked was supposedly calm.

Turks have been oppressing Kurds for a good while now- Kurdish groups have been attacking the border, rightfully trying to claim independence or at least better treatment for Kurds. Turkey is a dick and invades the only peaceful part of Iraq. I'm going to Turkey tommorow, and I wonder whats happening over there, if anything, as a result of this.

It's what keeps them out of the EU, so I'm still happy.

The PKK though is a socialist group that started out in the 70s that tried to start a Kurdish nation. When they actually gained influence, its leaders got "liquidated" probably due to fear of minority riots or the socialists trying to overthrow the government. From then on, they've been doing the whole terrorism bit to gain Kurdish independence.

So what do they expect to gain, a Kurdish nation akin to Israel? Why can't ethnicities just cohabitate in the middle east? Segregation isn't the answer though.

Are you serious or are you joking cuz I can't really tell.

I don't think Kurds are being oppressed in any way in Turkey. And PKK hasn't been attacking just the border, they have killed thousands of civilians in suicide bombings, assassinations and raiding vilages.

If they really want independence, killing civilians is surely not the way to do that. Turkey used an international right against a golabally recognized terrorist group and there's nothing unjust about it.

Lol that's right. In fact the US has never denied supplying PKK with guns and bombs, they were seeing PKK as a tool they can use to bully the other nations in Iraq and Iran, but that plan failed so they cut the support and let Turkey attack. They also supplied the intelligence which helped Turkey do the air raids at night time.

It's a pretty funny world we live in.

and  Mintrude.
