I guess you're the only one. It's a great song. It had 14 minutes or pure metal. Fast riffs, slow parts, melodic parts, brutal parts (Harris's bassline before the slow part), and it was beautifully sung. How could you not say it's a great song?

Quite boring indeed. There is a great deal of better songs in Maiden's répertoire.

Noooooooooooooo. Maybe it helps that I'm a big fan of the poem, because they capture it perfectly. That main riff is the perfect sailing riff, only interrupted by fantastic leads; then a little great solo section before ending on that incredibly ominous lead at 4:59. The middle section is about as atmospheric as you get, and I think perfectly conjured up the image of being alone at sea with nothing but dead men around you. Then comes the climax of the section- "the raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaain" followed by some of the best guitar work Iron Maiden ever pulled off, and back into the boat theme. An incredible song.

It should be a compilation where bands are chosen for their historical importance, and then one song per band is chosen for quality.
