I had an awesome xmas. It was the first time in years I went family visiting around town too, it was awesome. Anyways, I officially proposed to my GF yesterday with a ring and the whole thing, so that scared the shit out of her (in a good way).

Wow. Congrats!!!

I got custom made skiing poles (extra long, because they're not serial produced so long)

Went post-Christmas shopping today and treated myself to the following:

Bob Dylan - Nashville Skyline
Led Zep - II
Rolling Stones - Black And Blue
Jethro Tull - Aqualung
Bruce Springsteen - Born To Run
Annie Hall
O Brother, Where Art Thou?
Twelve Angry Men

So they're sort of Christmas presents...

Silent Man, my congrats. :dio: :)

I had a nice family Christmas as usual. Ate turkey, played trivial pursuit (and a Wii for the first time), got drunk. Cool.

Notable familial gifts:
-A ring to replace the one I lost in Sweden
-Suitcase, swimming trunks, Lynx travel bag for Carribean cruise in February
-Chocolate!!! :dio:
-March of the Penguins
-a 512 mb memory card for my camera

Also, my better half got me a watch, Wolf in Shadow by David Gemmell, Land of the Free II and 24 season 6. She is awesome. :)

Congrats hombre silencioso and good luck. I've enjoyed my first year a lot. It takes a lot of work though. Let us know how things go at the wedding and don't forget PIX! Must see pictures.

Christmas was a lot of fun, we did a White Elephant gift exchange at my aunt's. So fun. I didn't get much b/c my family is broke, but it was still good to see everybody.

Congrats to The Silent Man :)

Me and my manwench spent Christmas day together. The manwench had some trouble telling his father (his only nuclear family) that he won't be spending Christmas with him and his partner and her daughter and BF. It was a total shitstorm but in the end his father calmed down.

My parents were alright with it, waited until I got home in the afternoon to open the presents and didn't mind that I left without dinner, even offered us a box of choccies to take with us. family.

So we drove to the hinterland, walked around a rainforest, had a picnic by a dam (there are few natural lakes around, so large dams are often used for recreation and the scenery is most often beautiful) and swam in a waterfall. I caught a dreadful cold by being too lazy to change from my wet swimmers in the public change room and caught a horrendous cold during the two hour drive back home.
