Been a while since I've listened to it but was worthy of a higher score than 64. The previous 2 are better but this is a good cd.

I think this is their best yet and it was my biggest surprise of the year. Of nearly 70 07' releases I bought this year this came in at number 2. An incredible album.

I don't agree with Ben, this is much better than a lousy 64 - i give it 85, voices and perfect suicide blew me away.

This maybe is their worst album if you compare it to the last 2, but it's better than "Send Me an Angel", and it was rated a 78...

The most noticeable difference is that the emphasis of the music has been shifted from Michele to… nothing

I think he still has it.

I would have given Send Me An Angel no higer than a low ffity. Other than the A Ha cover that album is pure boring Power Metal 101. Actually both the debut and Send Me An Angel are pretty much worthless.

Stream Of Conciousness was where Vision Divine reinvented themselves and had it down just right on The Perfect Machine. This album isnt as bad as the two Fabio Lione cds but it isnt close to what they're capable of.

Well, than It's a matter of what you compare this album with. If it's the first two, it's better. But again, it's not as good as the last two.

Because of my too-subjective view, i gave the album to a friend who never listened to Vision, and he said that the album is pretty good, gave it a 78/100.

Well, one more for the list of those who disagree with the review! This album is great, one of the top 10 for me in 2K7!

This was a great album. For me, it had four 10's, one 9, and three 8's.

Stream of Consciousness and The Perfect Machine were nothing but 9's and 10's.

There's some stuff on here that doesn't live up to thier name, but at least half of it is as good as ever:

I'll give you my rating's for the last three albums:

Stream Of Consciousness: 9.60 (#3 all time)
The Perfect machine: 9.50 (#5 all time)
The 25th Hour: 9.11 (#24 all time)

A couple things:

Labyrinth was Olaf's band before VD, so how are they not in the same league? that's ridiculous. As far as I know, Olaf came up with the stuff for both bands and left Labyrinth because he thought the rest of the guys were trying to change the sound. When did Labyrinth release anything worthwhile after he left?

Michele Luppi records his own vocals in his own studio and sends them to Olaf so they can be mixed. Any blame there is that Luppi was under-utilized would fall on michele himself for not having recorded more vocals (which are double tracked, he sings the same key twice, once in falsetto and once natural and layers them)

Michele Luppi was there nwhen the album was mixed, as always. So there was no Olaf deciding to use less of the vocal tracks.

This review seemed a little ill informed to carry much weight for me, a huge VD fan.

The bottom line is that if an album is not as strong as the previous for an established band the rating seems to be shamefully low and if a band comes from nowhere with a surprisingly good album it gets a fucking 100. It doesn't make such sense to me.

A 64 is not a shamefully low rating. It is slightly above average which is what I found The 25th hour to be. The long and short of it is that Vision Divine were on an upswing with SoC and Perfect Machine and that The 25th Hour doesn't continue that trend.
