Easy mistake though, I don't expect metal fans to know anything about an 80's pop band, unless they are european and possiblely very diverse in thier listening.

I only said this because Big Country did very well in Europe and no where else. Cut me some slack damn you! :D

Nah, the similarities are striking.

I thought he misunderstood because he used the phrase "country-esqe" and "folk-esqe" like I were refering to a genre.

Had you write Big Country, I would have understood you but you wrote big country and I read "a bit country"...

As for the diversity of my listening, check out my Last FM profile.

They're kind of a tweener. I really like the new stuff they're putting out.

don't know if it has been asked before but Slayer - Reign In Blood should be classic!!

also kreator - pleasure to kill should be reviewed and made classic !!!

+ sodom persecution mania and Obsessed By Cruelty should be reviewed and one of them deserves classic status IMO

There are no Scorpions albums on the classics list. this is unacceptable. "In Trance", "Taken by Force", "Virgin Killer", "Fly to the Rainbow"...all of these are classics, yet no one has had the gaul to do a review. I DEMAND JUSTICE!!!

They're not classics at all. Love At First Sting is the Scorpions classic. The rest just vary from great to shitty.

Are you nuts?? Have you ever heard In Trance or Taken by Force?? Every song on those two albums in particular is great. Far superior to anything they ever did in the eighties both in heaviness, and technicality.

There's a couple of iffy songs on Virgin Killer but it's a great album. Wouldn't exactly call it a classic though.

fine, but In Trance and Taken By Force are both classics....Fly to the Rainbow only has one song that I don't like too much, so I'll call that one a classic as well.

My vote would be for "Blackout"!! That is most definitely a classic album.

Well, everybody disagrees in which Scorpions album is a classic... In my opinion, the real Scorpions classic is the live album "Tokio tapes", and in studio, Lovedrive.

Agent Orange is one of my all time favorites, but it has already been reviewed and given a 95. Reign in Blood has as well, and was rated a 100. Unless we can find an easy way to retroactively change reviews to "classics", these will stay the way they are now.

However, Persecution Mania and Pleasure to Kill are both on my list of reviews I want to do, and you can be damn sure they will both be given classic status when I get to them.

Has Warlock's True As Steel or Triumph & Agony ever been nominated? I think they're classic late 80's german metal for sure. Just a thought. :)
