It's OK. You could not have stopped yourself no matter what. It's just part of your European DNA.

Don't forget your DNA is from European rejects

Haha! Touche!

But over time we have evolved into opposites. We love seemingly every sport except soccer, while soccer is seemingly the only sport you guys love. (I love soccer by the way, but I'm in the minority over here) :)

Well we like a load of other sports as well(speaking for Belgians now) but american football was never one of them. Let's just assume it's a cultural difference. Rugby isn't really a very popular sport in many European countries so i guess it's just that kind of sport people here don't like.

Adam's right. sports like rink hockey or handball or basketball are popular but not to the same extent as football, while in the USA baseball, basketball e and american football are wildly popular. all 3 are major sports there, in Europe there is the Beautiful Game and then there's the others.

Here cricket, tennis and rugby are quite popular as well. I think it's the visibility and money in football that gets it the attention, I'd say roughly the same number of people here are into the others as well...

In Australia theres a huge push to pimp soccer, what with us developing a national league and stuff.

Of course Aussie Rules, Rugby, Cricket and Tennis are the most popular sports :dio:

I would say the same number of ppl have a passing intrest in other sports, but our nation only has a passion for one sport. Compair the rugby world cup with the real world cup, the nation pretty much comes to a stand still when england play football in the world cup. By compairsion, no one gives a shit about rugby.

I suppose... a lot of it's media-fuelled, though.
