Yes they are talented but what makes Firewind stand apart from countless other power metal bands ? Hope this one is better then the last.

Nothing much really they have a early Strato like sound to them.

I've been listening to The Premonition for couple of days now and I like it. I don't hear much of early Stratovarius but The Premonition is all I've heard from these guys so I don't know if this refers to past albums. Gus' playing sometimes reminds me his work in Dream Evil on songs like Remembered while Mercenary Man sounds very 80's rock to me. Now I'm anxious to try their early stuff.

Being a big fan of Firewind I must say that I'm a bit disappointed. After a few listens, just can't hear the vibe like they used to have on allegiance, but especially like the one on between h&h and burning earth. Looks like Gus is getting short of ideas. Maybe he should take a little break, than come back with some greater material. This album is far from bad of course, I like mercenary man, my loneliness and the silent code, but I would respect a change, or just something a bit better than this. My grade is 80/100. P.s nice review Crims

A bit surprised this didn't get more praise/discussion - I was happy to find it to be a super-catchy and highly melodic. Excellent, soaring vocals from Apollo too. Really enjoying this cd.

Mercenary Man and Angels Forgive Me, in particular, are great.

Very good album, better than Allegiance but not as good as any of the first three albums. Apollo sounds like a much better fit for the band here than he did with Allegiance.

Nice to see some heavier stuff on here as well, although I do like the melodic metal/hard rock moments as well. Big choruses ist krieg.

My review.
