I would probably rate this album something like 30 points lower. Rage is simply going through the motions here, and I wasn't very fond of "Speak of the Dead" either. I haven't heard "Unity", but "Soundchaser" wipes the floor with this album. Most songs on here sounds like they could have been b-sides on that album.

Cool review! Have not heard the album yet but I am looking forward to getting this cause Rage are one of my favorite bands.

Anyone heard a release date yet for the US?

I thought Speak Of The Dead was a brilliant album.

I think its a solid album. Nothing amazing but nowheres near bad. Soundchaser and Black In Mind still remain as my favorite Rage albums. I have yet to hear Unity though. I don't think this album will even be in my top 15 at the end of the year, but it is still a worthy release and worth a purchase.

With this album Rage tried to get back to the sound of Unity and Soundchaser. They achieved that but in the process wrote songs without character and memorability. I'm not saying the album is bad, it's just that the songs feel uninspired and bland. Simply compare the "experimental" track Lord Of The Flies with Dies Irae from Unity and you'll spot the difference. This is nothing compared to the awesomeness of Unity and Soundchaser but at least it's better than Speak Of The Dead. 75/100

And all you posers who have yet to listen to Unity...do it now.

I've only got soundchaser by this band... But according to their myspace, this sounds like an album I'll have to pick up.
