I have difficulty believing that his wife and an entire community could have no idea what was going on. His crazy runaway daughter came back to the house to abandon 3 newborn babies completely unnoticed. His wife didn't wonder where he was disappearing to every night? No one noticed he was building a fucking dungeon? People must have been turning a blind eye to some extent, even if they didn't know exactly what the situation was.
Absolutely heartbreaking anyway. The three children that lived upstairs lives will be ruined by this as well.
I too wondered about how the fuck his wife didn't notice the rather large house modifications this guy was making to keep his daughter and (grand)children in. A very disturbing example of a human regardless.
The guy was building that as a bunker with council authorization. what i'd like to know is how the house wasn't checked thoroughly when the whole thing started.
