Good review Marty! The intro and back history was well done but it's almost as long as the review itself! I know that is your style and what makes you unique to the team.

I totally agree with you on "Lay Down Your Love", which sounds like "Still Of The Night" part two.

Overall, I feel this is a very solid album. There really isn't one bad track on the album and each song does have pieces of Coverdales career....blues, rock, metal, etc.

I think "Call On Me" should have been listed as a killing song. That song is one of the most kick ass tracks on the album. Even "Summer Rain" could be considered the power ballad of the album.

This album does capture alot of what the "Whitesnake" album did for them in the 90's. And this line up is killier! Reb and Doug are awesome guitarists and could be mistaken for Sykes or Vandenberg. And Dave's voice sounds closer to what he did with Page on the Coverdale/Page album. He still sounds great!

This album really rocks and is just one of many hair metal albums to come out this year that sounds hungry and a rebirth of sorts for the genre!

This album is fantastic! Coverdale sounds awesome, and the music is excellent. I was expecting something a bit more mellow, more like Coverdale's solo stuff. I never expected a badass rock album!

I still have to listen to this one but it got lots of reviews saying Whitesnake was back in good form... A good omen!

Even though 87 would be their best album this album reminds me a lot of their 80's material so I give props to Coverdale for putting out a solid album.

You should've seen the original version!!! I thought an extensive background was necessary as this is the first Whitesnake review we have ever done. They have a long history even pre-Slide It In / Whitesnake albums which are most people's first exposure to the band. Call On Me is a solid track...agreed and so is Summer Rain but just not quite "killing" enough for me!!

i actually really enjoyed the background / band history that kicked off the review. I learned a bit about some of the band's roots and members. Thanks. I look forward to picking up this album.

Going by the review and comments, I think I am going to like this one. DC is one of my fav vocalists and I like Whitesnake too. Hope it comes out in stores here.

We picked this up when it was first released and I have to agree that this is a really strong hard rock release. Whitesnake pleasantly surprised me with "Good To Be Bad". I never thought they would have released something this good. This is exactly how I would expect Whitesnake to sound in 2008.

You can tell that Coverdale's voice isn't what it fully used to be but at his age what do you expect? The songwriting is as strong as death and Coverdale does sound fantastic.

Holy shit, this is fucking awesome! The riffs are just killer, the title track is the best imo.

I've had this one for a while, and it's definitely quality. I liked what Aldrich did on Killing the Dragon, but I like him even better here. A great hard rock guitarist.
