I recently purchased a new cell phone (Verizon) and I can't find shit for ring tones. A few Blind Guardian songs here and there, Nu Flames, Maiden, Coheed and Cambria, Megadeth, but that is about it. Is there a place I can get some more metalish ring tones. By the way this will be the first time I've assigned a ring tone song to my cell phone. I have no idea what I am doing.

Mobile-stuff offering websites are a bit confusing to navigate and find what you like, drowned in a huge amount of ads and dead links. It's even harder for metal things. I only visit websites for wallpapers and apps.

I can make any ringtone for you and just send it (like through msn or email or something). I found this amazingly simple and light audio editing program called Audacity (I also think it's open source = free). I load the songs in there, cut the song exactly where I want it, I make a small 20sec clip and save it as a separate mp3 file. First I thought that it would be hard and annoying but this is actually faster than logging into any website and spending 2mins finding a song.

If you need any help with the program, just ask me here or msn. If you need a specific ringtone, I can make it for you only if I have the song. I hope this helps.

Doesn't the phone play mp3s? Mine has been Fear Factory - Slave Labor for about a year.

Take your chosen songs from your Cds and convert them into mp3s. Load them unto your phone. Set them as sound alarms. If you don't have enough memory or you only want specific parts of the songs (like the Mirror Mirror chorus  ), simply use, like Antonakis said, an mp3 trimming software. A google search will find tons of freeware. They're extremely ease to use. You don't need no stupid ring tone sites.

My phone sings Jawbreaker as a regular ring tone and Take My Hand from Axxis when girlfriend calls. The wake up alarm used to be Behemoth's Demigod, but since my gf moved in I took pity on her and changed it for Astral Door's Black Rain.

Dago I'd gladly take them and Antonakis I really appreciate you doing all that for me, but I still don't know how to transfer the media from my comp to my phone. I don't have anything to connect the two.

If you have bluetooth on your phone, buy a bluetooth adapter for your computer. It's cheap and easy to handle. Or you could just buy a data cable.

besides bluetooth, you can also activate your phone's infrared thingy. what's your mobile phone make? if it's nokia it probably came with a programme to help you manage your cell phone through the computer.

Does your phone use a media card or internal memory by the way Ness?

I have a few different ring tones.

Friends: Ace of Spades
Family: Run to the Hills
Girlfriend: Cherry Pie

All generic songs off Verizon's built in software.

If it has built in memory then I'd imagine you'd be able to hook it up to a PC for file transfers and stuff. Usually phones like that have a mini-USB socket on it somewhere. Also, you may need the drivers for your phone too, so you may wanna check Motorola's website (though for some reason they charge for some of them, rotten bastards!)

Good luck.

Yeah, b/c I tried hooking it up to my comp, but it didn't register. Oh well, I think I'm going with At the Gate and maybe some Maiden.
