This was instant love for me. Assassins is such a monstrous song. Ad ghosts of grace has a nice indie feel to it. Beautiful album and probably my favorite black metal release this year.

Yeah, mine too. Tied up with Gorath - Misoteism so far.

Third that - Best thing I've heard all year!

Oh and on the vocals, though they might not be totally effective, they are at least identifiable, which is something a lot of bm bands lack through their shrieks and growls.

Well, it's nice to see people share my enthusiasm! This has got some shocking treatment from some quarters.

Though the saxophone bit is so good I wish the entire album was like that.

I wasn't impressed the first time I heard 'Your True Enemy' and 'Assassins'. The second time they clicked, but I couldn't detect any Floydian influences at all, which was a disappointment.

As for the next Black Meddle, I'm hoping they'll do a cover (or a corruption) of Pink Floyd's 'Echoes'.

Pink Floyd also have an album called "Meddle." According to my parents, it's a pretty psychadelic album.

OH SHI--

Dude, 'Meddle' has one of the best songs composed in the history of music called "Echoes".

Apparently they're supporting Opeth on tour. Hopefully they'll stay on for the UK leg, I'd love to see these songs done live.

Heard this for the first time last night. Solid 80, but not as good as I was hoping. Anyone hear the EP they did just before this? Some good tracks on there...

Only heard the Death In June cover. It was supposed to be a split with Leviathan, yes?

Except Wrest was arguing with his label, so Nachtmystium have said they will record new material for whenever they can put a split with leviathan together.

I've changed my mind on this one. Complete sell-out 'black metal'. And the lyrics are atrocious.

The indie hipster stuff on the album just takes it too far. The lyrics sound like a generic hardcore band trying to sound super evil.
