Been looking forward to this one. Especially with Matt on vox! Only heard the clips of the 2 songs they previewed earlier and they both sound awesome! I need to order it online somewhere I guess.

My only small gripe with the band is the keyboards are just way too high in the mix. I was hoping they would tone it down a bit with Barlow singing and all but doesn't sound like it.

I've listened to the 2 tracks ( Year of the Phoenix and Caramon's Poem) they have up on MySpace from the new CD. If the rest of the CD is indicative of those samples and this fabulous review, then I'll definitely be ordering this CD this week.

Caramon's Poem has definite Iron Maiden influences. Barlow sounds better than ever. The pairing of Barlow with Pyramaze is almost metal perfection. This is really good stuff. :dio:

Good to see "Legacy In A Rhyme" get a nod. It's fanfuckingtastic! Matt Barlow on a piano ballad? Fuckin-A right!

The album is almost disappointing knowing that Matt is no longer with them. It's unfortunate. It makes you wonder if him going back to Iced Earth was the right choice. Obviously Iced Earth brings in more money, and we don't know how good the upcoming album will be (the first single is pretty awesome), but what happens if Immortal is hailed as a much superior album?

Time will tell, I guess. Immortal, however, is near flawless.

After many more spins...
I think this is an awesome CD, though I still like 'Bone carver' more.
:)

I still haven't decided if I'm going to fully review this. We'll see...

Personally I think this one is better than Bone Carver, mostly because of the really, really terrible lyrics on Bone Carver. I haven't read the lyrics for this one, but they aren't as easy to notice as the lyrics to Bone Carver, so I don't really care.

Wish this would hurry up and get released here. The new singer Urban Breed I have only heard in Bloodbound's debut and I liked what I heard.

You need to hear his stuff in Tad Morose.

So looking forward to this. Huge fan of both bands, can't see this one being a let down.

Is it really necessary to constantly advertise your site?

I'm not trying to advertise my site (especially in this section of the forum), as everyone here already knows about it.
I was simply providing another opinion on the CD. I know for a fact there are many Pyramaze fans that are unsure of whether or not they should pick up their new one (because of the vocal change). I'm just trying to help, and that's actually the only I reason I wrote a review for this particular CD. I had already written a full review for their previous CD, and I have a pile of CDs waiting to be reviewed.

Seriously, do you not like to read more than one review when deciding on whether or not you're going to spend your hard-earned cash?
If there weren't so many new releases and if I had the time, I'd encourage more than one review for each CD on Metal CD Ratings...

I hope this answers your question, and honestly, if one of the moderators or reviewers asked me to stop plugging 2nd opinion reviews in this section of the forum, I'd gladly do so.
:)

That's what Metal Archives is for.

Metal-Archives is awesome, and I'd really struggle managing Metal CD Ratings without it.

Please stop plugging 2nd opinion reviews in this, and all other sections of the forum. There was a big fuss recently over people posting reviews on the forum, and the Powers That Be decided not to allow it. After all, we have a whole forum for promotional purposes... kindy keep your pluggist ways to that section.

No problem at all. Thanks for responding in a nice and respectful manner...

I'm just dumbstruck by the unfairness of this situation. While Clint is one of the nicest guys I know on this forum and someone trying his best to constructively build the metal community, he is targeted and ostracized for it!
