this has been controversial here, kinda. i've been under the impression that the media has been making the people against it seem much more populous than they really are

Ya, it seems to be a mainly media stirred controversy. Of course there are people bitterly opposed to it, and its their letters we're going to see the most of in our daily paper, but all in all, mostly everybody doesn't seem to care or supports it.

Personally, I think he deserves it.
