Horse Hunter and Fix Your Face are really cool, but Black Bubblegum was pretty crappy.

still not done with this album, though.

Black Bubblegum is awesome. Especially since now whenever I listen to Calculating Infinity's title track I imagine Greg's girly singing over it :)

There’s even a guest spot from Brett Hinds of Mastodon, lending his vocals to Horse Hunter, that’ll go by in a flash unless you pay attention.

Also their ex-vocalist Dimitri is on Fix Your Face :D

Good review, my only complaint about is that just because Mouth Of Ghosts has a build-up doesn't make it a post rock song  . I like how DEP have started making albums that flow as a whole instead of like a collection of songs. It seems like with each album they get better at writing heavy stuff and progress away from focus on songs to focus on the album as a whole.

Still don't know what to think of this. I just know that i don't like it as much as miss machine... Too many "useless" songs. :)

I like how you made a reference to the infamous "crapping in a T-shirt."

Meeting Mike Patton was the best thing to happen to these guys. Seriously, this is their best album yet.

Haven't heard this. But Irony Is A Dead Scene EP (feat. Patton) is by far my favourite record of theirs so might have to look into it.
