Well, I have a problem. I have a Epiphone Les Paul, it´s not a bad guitar, but the pickups are awful. So I will buy some new pickups, but I dont understand anything about them, that´s why I need help. I was thinking buying these two:

Now, I have a noob question.

Should I put the SH4 in the neck or in the bridge,or its the same thing?

You should have a technician do it, they're there for a reason. How do you expect to do it yourself if you even don't know where you're gonna put the pickups in?

I guess you´re right, but I know a old guy that knows how to put them. I just need some help to choose the right ones for me.

I wish I knew more about pickups. I know nothing. :[

If ypu want a heavy sound and you're a riffer, go with emg's. 81 on the bridge and 85 in the neck position. Seymore Duncan's Dimebag pickups is also a good alternative

If you are more of a lead guitarist you should check out DiMarzio.

I am a more like riff player, but I can,t use the emg 81 an 85 cause they are active, so I wanted some pickups that are good but passive.

You could always use EMG HZ's. The passive versions that is.

Andit's and easy task for every guitar technician to make your guitar "active".

And. You're the one to answer if they're good or not. Seymore Duncan wouldn't work for the way that the EMG's do. But thats me. You should go to your local store and try out some guitars with the mentioned pickups to get the idea. I know that Gibson guitars with EMG's are absolutely fantastic.

It's all about the tone that you're going for. Take the advice of metal_xxx and go play some guitars that have the pickups that you're thinking of buying. Try those out on a rig with effects that are close to what you play through at home to get a better idea of what they'll sound like through your set up. Take your time in selecting the right pickups. If there is a particular guitarists tone that you're looking for then research what they use and try those out. I personally love how Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, and John Petrucci sound so I went with DiMarzio pickups in my guitars.

I can't stress this enough.....make sure a real authorized guitar technician at a guitar shop installs your pickups. Don't trust anyone else to tinker with your guitar. If they screw it up it could cost you even more money to fix or even replace your guitar.

I liked a guitar that had this two pickups:

DiMarzio PAF pro in the neck
DiMarzio ToneZone in the bridge

yes! thats awesome! I have great experience with the tonezone pickups.

Excellent choices for pickups!! Now, keep in mind that I am heavily biased toward DiMarzio but those are great fkin' pickups!!

now which amp did you play? was it similar to ypurs? ANd which guitar? Damn, you should go with those pickups.. You actually managed to get me in the pickup-change-mood. I have a tonezone and some other old dimarzio pickup lying around.

My amp is a Peavey ValveKing 112, and unfortunately my guitar is a Epiphone Les Paul Special II, but I think it will be better with this new pickups.

It will definitely sound better. I would recommend that you get a good guitar tech to do a proper set-up of the guitar when they install the pickups. It will play and sound infinitely better and you will love it.

Ok guys now I need some help. I'm changing the pickups on my Ibanez RG (shitty INZ1 and INZ2 P.Us fucking suck). I'm going with passive EMG humbuckers, but which model do I pick???
