Yeah, Towers of Avarice is probably my favourite prog metal album ever, keep in mind it's very hard to appreciate.

Reviewing here has given me an overdose of metal, so I need a break from it.

Never really given them a chance so I picked these up.

Definantly not bad but this site led me to believe I'd jizz in my pants listening to them.

Basically I hear the double bass and screamy vocals and end up listening to Painkiller instead.

It is. They're a great band. I can't speak for the albums/demos that came before that album, though.

No. But they've sort of turned into this half-assed confusing wannabe digital audio meets shitty online store meets some convoluted trading pyramid scheme, or something. Fuck that site. They've lost the plot. I haven't used them in months.

Yes.

Death angel - The Art Of Dying : Good album, IMO DA has never been an outstanding band, only The Ultra Violence i would consider it as an above averrage album, the others range from mediocre to ok albums, you just got one of the ok albums.

Messhuggah - I hate them so i cant really comment.

Metal Church - A Light In The Dark : yeah fucking killer album, that band has never released a bad album IMO, if you havent checked their other albums i strongly suggest that you do, starting from their self titled or The Dark.

Threshold - Dead Reckoning, good album in the same vein as their previous two albums, and although i do prefer Damian Wilson, Andrew Mac is an excellent singer too, if you liked this album check out Critical Mass also.

Flotsam & Jetsam - High, havent heard it, i love Doomsday For The Deceiver and No Place For Disgrace, but i hear that the band hasnt been the same since Jason Newsted left.

Sinergy: hate the band.

The Meshuggah's great; one of their heaviest albums. The last track is PAIN.

I still use them. I've used them for downloading albums that I would normally not want to buy at full price for the actual physical CD or if it's a CD that I just can't get my hands on via mail-order that's doesn't carry an astronomical import price tag. Their variable bit rate isn't bad. I will admit it certainly is not the same quality as actually having a CD but sometimes you make sacrifices.

I've never traded through Lala so that really wasn't an issue that impacted my decision to continue to buy from them.

Awesome! Thats he kind of replies I want. None of the albums was on my list actually. Just bought blindly. Sinergy is pretty good actually, I remember liking som flotsam & Jetsam, and threshold is awesome. I'm pretty new to metal church, but have heard some and liked it, so I bought their cheapest album. Will check out their earlier releases. Haven't heard any early Meshuggah so I'm looking forward to that one.

Don't expect High to be anything like Doomsday or No Place. It's all right for what it is. But old school Flotsam it is not.
