Blooddrunk is NOT good music. Now go listen to Spiral Architect.

Blooddrunk is something like the #4 best seller where I work. Canadian Best Buy, basically.

I've only heard one song off this album and I wasnt as impressed as much as I thought I would be. Especially coming from a band like Children of Bodom. Alexi Laiho is an amazing musician and has written some of the most bad ass riffs I've ever heard. But in my opinion they havent done anything good since Follow the Reaper. Hate Crew Deathroll was decent but it lacked what their previous albums had. I feel like they abandoned everything that made them awesome in the first place as well as all they're original fans and I hate that. Following the footsteps of In Flames. What the hell man. They havent released a good album since Clayman. Lets forget our real fans and make crappy mallcore music.

God, that is some hideous cover art. This is the only Bodom album I can find for sale anywhere, unfortunately.

SA is too much for even me. There's a point where technicality is no longer enjoyable as music...

I thought it was extremely good. I listened to this finally last night and the album just had that classic COB vibe. The neo-classical stuff is gone and so is the ultra-thin and tinny production, but that's bound to happen in a bands progression over 10 years.

Overall, I think this has the potential to be better than HDR in the long run. Maybe will rate as high as the two classic albums.

children of bodom has done a great job with the new album blood drunk.they have this amazing Scandinavian sound which you can't afford to miss if you are a true bodom fan.And they haven't even become mellow as some might say about them.songs like blood drunk and hellbounds on my trail ,lobodomy etc kick major ass.jaska's cool drumming is evident throughout the album.alexi's guitar playing beautifully backs awesome riffages by roope latvala.piano playing by warman stands out as usual, and alexis singing gives the songs the agressive edge.the songs have not lost their charm when compared to previous bodom albums.the band has beautifully evolved.we have all seen bands getting lost in the mainstream as they reach the 4'th or 5'th album in their career.but in the case of children of bodom they have beautifully mastered the art of creating nice songs that arent repetitive at all.To sum it up,a pretty amazing effort by an awesome finnish band who are at the forefront of their metal career.cool effort guys .now reap the rewards

Children of Bodom in general got boring after a year or two for me. Got into them when I was 14, got out of them before I turned 16. They always felt like a light metal band to me, and never thought their songwriting was particularly good. Too verse-verse-chorus-verse with a neoclassical solo and metal guitarwork.

I like neoclassical as much as the next guy (even more, I suppose) but COB's songs have always seemed too "samey" to me. Kind of like Dimmu Borgir's stuff, the vocals are the same from song to song, the guitar tone is always the same, and there's always a fast, slick solo at the end.

It's awesome and thunderous when you hear it for the first time after listening to nothing but Papa Roach your whole life, but once you progress it becomes sort of flat and tasteless.

Anyway, that's just my take on the matter.
