There's even some Nu-Metal bullshit in the classics section, for satan's sake do something.
What are you talking about?

I need to check Roots out if it's really that good. I was just looking and saw Chaos AD was a classic. To me that is goofy but whatever.

I'm talking about Satan, who for example would not be too pleased to see Strapping Young Lad in the classics while the TOTALLY INSANE Kreator - Pleasure To Kill wich has influenced virtually any Death Metal band out there has not even been reviewed yet. Satan is a badass mother fucker, so don't mess around with Satan.

Well, according to South Park, Satan is gay. So that must mean that Kreator is pretty gay, too.

If you think Kreator is gay you have a problem. So therefore Satan is not gay and south park is still just a great tv show. In the end the only one gay is you.

I think Satan would be well pleased to see SYL in the Classic section.

Anyways my point was just to say that there was some classics missing I think it would be great to review them because I'm sure some young people come here starting listening to metal and they don't know metal's history very much yet, I think these milestones should not be ignored since they deserve at least this respect. I just said it in a rather drunk way.

Fair point, but although Metal Reviews was such a help back when I was getting into teh methuls, it was more for the forum. The majority of stuff reviewed here is advanced-level, whether it's obscure Power Metal or some of the more leftfield stuff that Mintrude and I are into. Young people are welcome to use the place as a guide to the more interesting side of Metal, yet there is a certain elitist viewpoint here - we're totally underground and independant and shit. As someone said, the majority of the people coming here know about early Black Sabbath, and like this place for the bands they don't hear about anywhere else... Of course, we will eventually get around to being the foremost authority on Metal and Metal-related acts on the entire internet, but for the moment the road is long, hard and uphill, and we pass the milestones when we can.

I'm also like that, but I still think the stuff reviewed in the classic sections should include more classics that "everyone knows about" as these are really the true classics of metal someone should know about if they are getting into metal. But then again I understand your vision, it's great to find some cool bands you've never heard about in here. In the reviews section I have nothing to complain about this website is awesome for this.

I was mistaken about SYL, I just thought they were another band that really sucks. Though their name was similar. At The Gates - The Red In The Sky Is Ours is one classic not too many people know about I think. And if even you have never heard Melissa then you can't say everyone knows about the classics I've proposed. It's just a matter of what kind of metal you're into.

Not into SYL? Tut, great band - City and Alien are good starting points.

I'd say that quite a few people know of ATG - Slaughter Of The Soul has been bandied around for ages as teh best melodeath album evar; they've never really done it for me like Dark Tranquillity.

And I have taken steps to acquire some Mercyful Fate and may well be reviewing Melissa at some point in the future!

If you've never taken the time to listen to other At The Gates you might think SOTS is the best At The Gates album but the old ones are actually way better, Dark Tranquillity don't even get close for me, it's a matter of taste, still, The Red In The Sky Is Ours is a landmark release and every bit of a classic as one should be. I'll try some SYL but there's so many great bands emerging here in Quebec I'm having trouble keeping score with the rest.

Satan is overrated, I'd take Rasputin over him any day.

Finally, the big cock of shit music has been pulled from your mouth and you can review something good.

But Zad, if you do another KIMB...ABIG and give it less than 90 and not a classic review I honestly think you're on the wrong site.

 I have the widest tastes on the site, if not this side of the internet; if you can't find something you like from my weekly picks it's not my fault.

If I review it, I'll give it whatever I damn well like.

I don't care. Therefore I care less. It should be. As long as it's over 90.

Hells yes! A quick look at my WMP reveals everyone from Amon Tobin to Apparat, Boards Of Canada, Boom Bip... heh, it's all As and Bs.

Do you like Wolf Eyes and Venetian Snares?

Amon Tobin owns. never really liked Venetian Snares (most of it sounds like a Nintendo malfunctioning to me; Rossz csillag had some pretty violins but then he'd ruin it by throwing a bunch of those annoying snares everywhere).

haven't heard the others :[
