Heavy metal/nwobhm for me... this is the genre I feel more confortable with, my old Iron Maiden, Judas, Baron Rojo, Angeles del Infierno, Muro, old Helloween... I grow with them.
But in all genres there's a lot of interesting bands.

Chose death metal. Death, Behemoth, Akercocke, Suffocation, Meshuggah, Crytopsy and countless other bands that are just so amazing you can't not like them.

I bet you all know what I voted for.

But Death and heavy/NWOBHM were close seconds.

+1

Voted Progressive, which covers a lot. Of course, it all depends on mood...

I'm more into prog shit than black metal nowadays but I still picked bm because it is actually more progressive than progressive metal.

Classifying Akercocke, Opeth or Augury as progressive is cheating.

Heh, perhaps, but I'd class the 'cocke and the 'peth as Prog bands.

I chose progressive metal due to my love of Dream Theater. However, I love a bit of everything. I have affections for Melodic-Death, Heavy Metal, Symphonic/Gothic, Power, Doom, and a dash of Black + Death metal.

Lately heavy metal/nwobhm seems to be what I listen to most... but thrash and power metal are closer runner ups.

Death, but really melodic death and technical or brutal death.

Black metal in its various forms is a very close second for me.

Black Metal is tr00 methul. Face paint, spikes and naked nuns with blood all over them. What else can be more metal? The rest are shite.

*points finger to Kat and says "He said that"

Hahaha!

Well I voted Black Metal but NWOBHM is a very close second.
