I don't hate pot, but I just don't have any desire to smoke it. I never did.

How do you know that? Every human body responds individually to each type of medication. I know that for a fact, as I work on a hospital.. Some medication do not work on someone, while it saves someone else... It's just the way it is.

Anyway. At least marijuana calms you down, like booze tends not to.

Wrong, not everyone gets aggressive or something like that when they're drunk. I have several friends who just become very passive( read: comatose ) when they drank some booze.

I said TEND:P I get calm as hell when I'm drinking booze... Most of my friends gets raving mad.

People who get mad or agressive or just annoying when they're drunk TEND( ) to piss me off. WHen you know you get like that, don't drink so much that you are spoiling the fun of others. On the otherhand, those kind of people are the most fun to pull a prank with when they're drunk.

Yea I know.. They're always fucking up the good mood.

When i drink i get the same effect of someone under cocaine. Awesome!

Really dumb comparison...no offense. Music has artistic value and isn't unhealthy...pot is basically just a way for people to escape their lives, for whatever reason, and is unhealthy. Although not as unhealthy as cigarettes, which should be illegal if pot is illegal.

I can to a certain point understand that uber-busy people fire up a joint once in a while to calm down. It's not addicitive either.

A little bit in moderation after a hard days work never hurt anyone.
Smoking a bowl isn't any kind of "escape"; what do you think happens when you smoke weed? If anything, it makes you think more, at least it does me. That's one of the reasons I only like it very seldomly. Too much introspection...

You could just as easily say that music is an escape.
Or religion, for that matter. Who are you to judge what others do?

Theres a thin line between using and abusing which a lot of people seem to forget.

While I'm smoking this blunt and snorting this line I'm going to tell you I hate pot smokers and drug users.

It is more like a ''lets not allow multi-national cigarette companies sell their cancer sticks''/''lets not just prohibit marijuana because it is hard to tax and actually prohibit things with blatantly harmful, irreversible effects'' attitude.

Because that isn't a slippery slope you just pointed out. The effects of fattening food can be reversed; liver, throat and lung damage aren't equal to an extra thirty pounds.

if you're smoking enough pot to give yourself lung cancer, you'll have a lot bigger problems than lung cancer. mainly being too stoned to have a job or do anything.


exactly, sitting and watching a movie or listening to music or whatever isn't any more productive than getting high. it's silly to say pot has no redeeming value; if that were true why would anyone like it?

I tend to agree with you guys that pot isn't that bad, but the listening to music example is just terrible. That's more like saying that smoking pot has no more redeeming values than reading a book than anything else. Music is an art, and listening to it is an enjoyable yet also an intelligent (for lack of a better word) experience.

Drugs are definitely an escape from reality. I really don't understand how you could argue otherwise. That's the basic definition of a drug: something that alters the state of the mind/perception of reality.

But drugs were once seen as artistic. Taking LSD was a big part of the psychedelic art scene back in the day, for one example. Just because these days it's all 'drugs are for losers' doesn't mean it's always been so. Once, drugs were about opening your mind up.

Anyways, you can argue than any artistic experience is an escape from reality, since it's not vital to daily life. Pot, music, film, art itself...

also pot should be legalized so mexicans stop polluting national parks

That's stupid, drugs are still about opening your mind up! If I take LSD now it will open my mind just as much as it opened a hippie's mind back in the sixties. If you've never experienced with drugs, they might seem scary or stupid, but you should not talk about what you don't know, and you obviously don't know shit about drugs. And I know, some drugs are bad, some are good, you can't throw 'em all in the same basket, alcohol for example is legal but is way worst than most drugs (gotta love alcohol anyway).

Damn you guys! You guys really get stuff for cheap! For a 100 bucks over here I only get 4-5 joints out of it! And most of them are crap!
