Actually i'm on middle ground here.
I loved Vilosophe, dug some tunes in [Views] and i think How The World is a mixed bag.
The 1st 3 songs are great then it slows down too much and picks up interest near the end.

The thing is they've got strong songs (the 1st 3 once again) but some others feel like they'd be more suited as chapters in a very long track they didn't succeed in creating.

I did try to give it a go, and didn't hate it as much as Ross did, even the "rapped" parts. There is definitely a "leap of faith" one need to be taking while listening to Manes, but their weirdness strangely fits, it certainly did not rub me the wrong way. Having this on a metal label, Candlelight is not The End after all, does sound strange, however.
First two songs and The Cure-All were the better ones for me.

Ross is a cloth-eared numpty. Definately give this a listen, fans of the experimental (late Ulver?).

I know this is an oft-discussed subject, but even if Ross was the only one available, surely this deserves better than 'crap of the month' just because he thinks it's not very metal? Pity Misha's so busy, this is more his sort of thing...

Ross didn't get it. This is one of my favourites of the year.

Manes ceased to exist, by the way. It's already months ago, but I only just noticed this today. Quite a shame, I think.

Never understood why this got such a low score. It was easily in my top ten albums for 2007.

Haven't the guys from Manes got a new band now though?
