The last GOOD Satyricon album. Everything after this is bullshit, wish they would have continued on this direction instead.

np: this album

Yeah. Good shit.

I agree with that. I definitely don't like their change to "black'n'roll" of whatever people want to call it. It's not Nemesis, but fairly close. Great album.

I have mixed feelings about this one, I guess I can say that about all their albums including this and the later. I do enjoy the new Satyricon but I don't think they have released a GREAT album in this direction yet. They aren't Enslaved, y'know.

Haven't heard the new one yet, I guess we can expect the review next week, right Zaddy?

And this is not close to Nemesis. Not in this fucking universe. No fucking way. Not close to Dark Medieval Times or The Shadowthrone either. It's a good album in its own way but, no, Just no. Those albums are something else.

Hopefully. Not heard it yet, waiting for my Amazon preorder, so my fingers are well and truly crossed...

Totally agreed. Sorry if you read me the wrong way. I didn't mean to put Rebel in the same league as Nemesis. I just meant to say that for what it is, it's completely great. Compared to the band's earlier works it's a step down... but it's still way, way better than what most of the black metal scene has become (save exceptions like Enslaved, although they're barely black anymore, IMO).

And, Nemesis is a freaking milestone. No black metal song has ever, or will ever touch Mother North, probably. I've honestly never heard Dark Medieval Times but Shadowthrone is also way different and out of this league. Just thought I'd precise a bit.

Personally Volcano is my favorite Satyricon album but this one is on very close contention. Awesome album for sure. Solid review.

I didn't realize the new one was leaked, getting it now. :)
