I was basing same old same old on Character, Fiction and Damage Done. They are after all their latest records. If you look at other bands the most variation is often in the early records. I also said that their newer records requires more listening before their originality comes out. That is the way it is for most people.

Maybe you mr Afro Lint should pull your head out of your ass, then even you might hear some similarity's between them.

So "every time they release a new record" only means the last three, huh? Gotcha.

And maybe you should continue reading and see that I agree there are some similarities between the last three albums. But remember, you said "every time they release a new record," which in my country means every record. If the word "every" has a limit of three in your country, then I apologize for being ignorant of your culture and language.

I just got back from a live In Flames show, and there is a definite step up in quality and a fusion of old/new with the latest material. It sounds GREAT live and stands up to the early stuff. 'Nuff said.

They're a very good live band.

I really, really like this album. Great songwriting, and Ander's voice is really tight.

I like it too, but they still have a long way to go before they regain what they once had. Actually, I don't think they'll ever get that back. Anyway, step up for sure.

It took a little time, but this album grew on me. Its closer to their older sound than the last couple of albums have been. Sleepless Again and The Chosen Pessimist are standouts for me.

I may have never posted on this album so I'm going to say that this album IMHO is one of the best In Flames albums. The only better ones IMHO are Whoracle and Colony. It's super catchy and driving and happens to have my favorite In Flames song ever on it, Sleepless Again. The songs are so well put together. This is one of those albums I can listen to start to finish without skipping a song. I wish their self titled newest album was as good as this one. The songs just aren't put together as well. I also don't understand why they would release their ST album without Jesper. I hope he is able to take care of his personal issues and come back to In Flames cause I have always felt he was a very important member.

Well I listened to Sleepless Again, again, since you mentioned it: thanks but I'll stick with Subterranean or Morphing into Primal.

Ahh Subterranean  .
In Flames just makes me sad nowadays. They're alright I guess, if I manage to forget how they sounded once.
