Bah fuckin humbug. I hate hate hate Christmas. At least wait until like, it's actually here, instead of getting caught up in some capitalist bullshit BUY PRESENTS FOR EVERYONE BECAUSE OF FAMILY AND STUFF nonsense that I'm going to have my brain filled with for the next month just because I read papers and shop in a supermarket, my god. No-one would bother with Christmas were it not for all the IIIIIIIIIIIT'S CHRRRRRRIIIIIISSSSSTMMMAAAAASSSSS bollocks. Like this thread.

Jews are the worst, seriously. The envy is astonishing. Chanuka is supposed to be about a nonsensical military victory, not about lighting candles and playing games, and giving presents. My little brothers go to a Jewish school and some of their little fuckrag friends think they're special because they celebrate a holiday where they get presents eight times, the spoilt shits.

Someone on the internets who thinks holidays are cynical and are just an exercise in consumerism and excessive capitalism? GASP!!!!!!!!! Though I will admit that it seems a bit early to get excited about the holidays.

Regarding Chanukkah: Not going to argue with you that its hilarious that we celebrate a holiday for defeating a Hellenistic king whose kingdom had already been assfucked by Rome repeatedly and whose motives are completely misrepresented by the holiday, but I'm pretty sure Chanukah is exactly supposed to be about lighting candles- you know, the miracle of oil and all that. And I see no reason why kids playing games is so bad. But seriously, do kids actually get eight presents over Chanukah? Because thats spoiled as shit..

But seriously dude, lighten up. I know hating the holidays ist krieg
and all, but baby Jesus wants you to be happy. Anyways:

Favourite Christmas Carols - Beach Boys- Barbara Ann
Favourite Christmas/other holiday food - Potato latkes are awesome.
Christmas List - A metronome would be nice, since my last one broke, or maybe a Gene Wolfe book or something.
What you love about Christmas - It is nice to see people cheerier than usual in general, and its nice to see people be more generous.
What your getting Cara for Christmas - Your mom
What you hate about Christmas - Admittedly, the amount of consumerism and advertising can be a bit much. Also, its kind of annoying that the religious aspect of Christmas is completely ignored, not that I'm Christian or need the word of Jaysus to be spread and all.
Favourite Christmas movies/programs - A Christmas Story is awesome. And so is A Charlie Brown Christmas.

Who in the fuck gives a shit about how consumerist Christmas is? Lighten up and have some fun.

I've never actually bought a present for anyone even though I have six siblings, then again we aren't very close. What I love about Christmas though is ham. My dad buys like 10 hams and we eat ham well into February.

I don't really do anything special for Christmas any more, I just drink a shit load of beer and play some games. Awesome.

I'm normally among the first to bemoan capitalism, as you know, but even I dig Christmas, Ebenezer.

I just realised what I hate about Christmas. All the god-damn chocolate. Yeah, chocolate is nice and all, but why does there have to be insane amounts of it.

Favourite Christmas Carols - All of them.

Favourite Christmas food - Lamb Chops.

Christmas List - Don't really know yet. But Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time is a possibility.

What you love about Christmas - Being Christian, the birth of Jesus, of course. But I also really love the generosity and general happiness associated with the holiday (which, of course, ties in to my main reason).

What you're getting Cara for Christmas - A Barbie doll?

What you hate about Christmas - Political Correctness. Say, "Happy Holidays!" if you want. I'll just reply with a firm "Merry Christmas!"

Favourite Christmas movies/programs - A Christmas Story and A Charlie Brown Christmas.

Well, remember that, contrary to what a lot of people think, the modern day Christmas season isn't entirely Christian. In fact, a lot of our festivities (Christmas Trees, the December 25 date, etc.) are rooted in Paganism.

Well ya, nobody knows when Jesus' real birthday is, and lots of Roman and Greek religion has creeped into Christian holidays and religion, but still, the holiday is fundamentally supposed to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, who if you are Christian, is supposed to be your lord and saviour. Yet it seems to me that a lot of people who celebrate Christmas completely ignore that aspect, which is fine and all, because Christmas is a great excuse to hang out with family and be charitable and all, but if its not about Jaysus at all... Whats the point?

Christmas is a construct of the Elders of Zion, who aren't the Jews at all but members of the Illuminati, wanting to enslave humanity and sell their bodies to extraterrestials for medical research. In return, the aliens won't destroy the planet. So we put up with Christmas, since it makes the peons happy and they don't question why the American money has pyramids and weird eyes and shit.

Yet soon, my fellow red sea pedestrian, soon we will destroy the wretched aliens and extend our control of Hollywood to the world!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Agreed. For a little trivia, the general belief is that Christ was born sometime in March/April-ish. It's also believed that the crucifixion was around the same time period. Which would actually make Easter more chronologically accurate than Christmas.

Okay Cara, we'll stop. But remember that it's impossible to really discuss Christmas without bringing Jesus into the discussion.

Easter itself was originally a holiday devoted to Eostre, the goddess of Spring. Christianity recycled pretty much everything from the halos to the number of disciples...

His name is Jesus Christ
And He is a crazy guy
Last december i recall
he needed a spanking (tun tun tun tun tun)

He decided then
A female specimen
Would be excitin for a night
To give him a spanking

Laurel was her name
She came to notre dame
He told me just the other day
He oughta be thanking
Her for the spanking

She was large and soft
And she beat him off
Made him drool upon his dork
And gave him a wanking
After the spanking

Then she did explain:
Theres another game
That we can play with this device,
And then a banana!

It was slightly green
Vapors in between
Rising up to fill the room
And cook the banana

She said it was dry
Jesus wont you try
To drool a little drool on it
And grease the banana

Later in the dawn
Laurel carried on
She got right up and dressed herself and
Ate the banana
