Why so exited about Rammstein?
They can be seen at VIVA 10 times a day and each new record immediately hits #1 chart position - at least in Germany. That is, their music is designed for nothig more but airplay and record selling.
Normally you bash bands for this - In Flames, Metallica - so why do you spare Rammstein?
Maybe you don't know that Rammstein is listened mostly either by trendy lemming kids or by pseudo nazis. Or maybe sometimes the MUSIC still counts and not who is listening to it. Who knows?

Because they always did their own thing, they have a unique sound, and they still became successful. That is quite an accomplishment. They did not alter their sound to sell more CDs like In Flames or Metallica.
I'm happy for the success of Rammstein, way too many people are concerned about commercial success.

Pseudo Nazis? Find one Rammstein song that advocates nazism.

I don't know any. My only explanation why they are so popular for far-right teens in Germany is the whole affectation. Especially the manner-of-'singing' -including accent- is very reminiscent of the way the nazi-agitators prayed to the public.

...

So you have no real evidence of such a connection, you're just tying things that have nothing whatsoever to do with the songs themselves (the delivery and the audience) to Nazi practices (minor ones, mind you), and just proclaiming them to be Nazis?

That's idiotic.

And this is my least favorite Rammstein album so far. Can't seem to get into it, even after four listens. I'll give it three more, then I'm moving on.

No, I haven't. That's why I wrote: MY only explanation ...

No, it is the other way round. It IS fact that Rammstein is popular in parts of the German "nazi"-scene although -you are right- there is nothing with the songs themselves (the delivery and the audience). I tried to find an explantion why. If you doubt about my mental health for this ... well, no comment.

Enough said. Let's stick to the music.

I'd say it's due to the nationalistic tendencies of Neo-Nazis, and thus their need to listen only to music from Germany. 'Bust out the Sodom and Rammstein, Klaus's coming over' sorta thing.

Preaching to the converted. I just didn't like you classifying one of the few good Industrial bands as a bunch of Nazis.

Damnit, I'm sure you know what I mean when I tell you about the moments you got goosebumps when listening to certain passages in certain songs.

I rarely have these moments, but this album's got one for me!
Song: Stein um Stein at the 2:46 minute mark. Till screaming "Stein!!!", the crushing riff and the crazy high pitch guitar? soloing. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...
