Sounds like a good time. I love almost every band you saw. I'm glad Sabaton was excellent, from what i've seen online, i suspected them to be an amazing live band.

As a longtime reader, and first time poster, I figured you would overhype Avantasia. Your fanboyism for Tobias and anything related easily eliminates any chance of objectivity. Not that i blame you, i'm the same way with anything Rush does.

You've definitely inspired me to go to Wacken sometime. It seems amazing :dio:

I cannot deny that I'm (or was) a Tobias fanboy but what I said remains, it was the best live sound I've ever experienced (and I've seen tons of live shows in the past), and it had NOTHING to do with my love for the band. On the other hand I'm EXTREMLY disappointed with Edguy lately (and of course that goes for Tobias). Avantasia was simply a mind blowing show.

As for inspiring you I'm glad, you'll be experiencing something unique.

on Kamelot: even on their live DVD they don't seem half as cool as they are in the studio. they're one of my favourite bands and i'd love to watch them live because of it, but they really come off as a studio band, sadly.

I'm forced to agree, this band doesn't manage to reproduce the thrills of their studio album live. This year's Wacken show was a rather good one (but still not a highlight), but the first show I saw was abysmal.
