Yeah, I have to say that Nevermore cover is pretty terrible. Even Firewind on the Century Media cover album did a better job, IMO. But either way, no one can imitate the real deal. :dio:

I heard a couple tracks from this album, and I really didn't like them at all. Then again, I never really liked this band to begin with.

And they covered Believe In Nothing? Fuck that. That's one of my favorite Nevermore songs.

Too bad... All That Remains was always one of the few metalcore bands I liked.

After the Fall of Ideals I had high hopes. But alas.

This album is definitely weaker than their last two releases, but I don't think it's deserving of the low score given.

Per usual with metalcore or melodic death, the whole " omg this has been done before " line comes up. Sure it has, so have all the black metal and power metal and other genres you guys review here, and I hardly ever see that mentioned in those reviews.

It is mentioned when it applys. I'm pretty sure Rio mentioned it about Behexen's latest.

Yeah, and I always try and mention when I find a Black Metal or Power Metal album to be unoriginal.

That's a little harsh. Go look up the old Gorguts or Crypotopsy reviews. Reviewers try and does it really matter whether All That Remains has a high caliber essay written on their behalf?

Not often enough. Not that I care, but if one genre is going to be beaten to death for always sounding the same the rest may as well, too.

i just think if your going to be reviewing an album, regardless of if you enjoyed it or not, you should put at least a little effort into actually breaking down the disk some and talking about why you gave it the review you did. there was very little explanation in this review.
