how was your year?

good-moved back in with my awesome mom. girlfriend and me are stable. solidified what I want to do with school and my future. job is awesome.

bad-moved back in with my bitchy mom. no money ever. no more room on my bookshelves. cat is driving me nuts.

ugly-nearly totaled my car and have unloaded my bank account to fix it.

good - got into a great master's programme and i'm loving it, my club is top of the table
bad - still ever so lonely :(
ugly - nothing downright ugly this year, fortunately

Good:

Studying something I really enjoy (Computer Science).

Made a lot of great friends during the year.

Have a lot of great memories, such as my trip to Chicago.

Bad:

Was laid off my job in February. Although this actually turned out to be a good thing, since it opened a gate for me to further my computer science education and move forward.

Ugly:

Nothing really.

Good:
The education is moving forward. I managed to pass all the final exams just before Christmas so I have a bit of free time before it starts again.
Been living with two mates, it's been both entertaining and educational.
Live is solid, no real ups or downs.

Bad:
Living with my mates. They sometimes get on my nerve. It's so good to stay home for Christmas so I can get some space.
Life is solid. No ups or downs. No no friends in a long time and too little contact with my best friends since we are all living in different parts of the country.

Ugly:
Some of my friends are having a rough time in their lives (living situation, money, family, studies) and I feel so helpless about it.

Good -
- Still married to my beautiful wife.
- Got promoted... twice .
- Spent lots of time with my family.
- Traveled more this year than last.

Bad -
- Totaled my 09 Camry, but ended up coming out on top after the insurance claim was processed (ended up being a good thing).
- Dropped out of school...

Ugly -

08 was an awesome year. 09 is going to be a great year.

Good: Had some fun times, found a decent place to live finally, saw some awesome bands (Immortal, Carcass, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Iron Maiden)

Bad: Decidedly average performance at uni, along with doubts about whether I should continue studying law and a general ongoing crisis regarding what I should do with my life. Girlfriend of 18 months dumped me, no money ever.

Ugly: Previous residence was broken into.

Good: halfway trough my year off... It's fucken awesome... No school, just work when I want and much money.. Love it. what 4else can I say? US and Barcelona were both awesome, I also got dropped by the army. Fuck yes.I suppose it's good taht me and my girlfriend have been holding up for almost 4 years now.

Bad: I miss my friends from school, and haven't kept in touch with some of them. Some unexpected deaths and sickness in my family which sucks.

Ugly: My heart failure was really scary.

Good: Most of the year has been pretty good. Towards the end of the year things have turned from good to awesome. I'm doing good in school. Have gotten myself a girl. Don't drink as much as I used to, although I do get really fucking drunk on occasions. All of this makes 2009 very promising.

Bad: Not having any money and borrowing from my friends.

Ugly: Drunken fighting.

The Good:
New school where I can use my full intellectual potential
Good times with my previous gf until she dumped me (which was a bad thing)
New hotass gf from Norway
Tremendously improved my playing technique, became a lot cleaner, a lot more comfortable onstage
Updated my whole backline with two new guitars, new ENGL fireball amp head, and a noise suppressor
Turn 18 at the turn of the year!

The Bad:
Previous gf of 14 months dumped me
No money, and the new album is veeeery expensive

The Ugly:
Recently discovered that previous gf has been fucking a guy ten years older than me for the past two months. This makes me feel a) jealous as fuck, b) betrayed and used, and c) guilty towards my new gf for still being affected.

All in all: 8/10

Good:

- 1 year anniversary with girlfriend
- Became a lot more open minded to a lot of things
- New group of friends who are a lot better than the assholes I used to hang out with.
- Moved to a bigger and better house
- Finally got my own PC
- Became more social and less shy

Bad:

- Grades haven't been the best
- still pretty shy

Ugly:

Nothing really ugly happened.


Overall a pretty good year. 8/10

I'll bite...

The Good

- Got engaged
- Changed to a better course (way happier for it) and actually paying attention
- FINALLY upgraded my PC
- Moving in with the nearlywife (that's next month though)
- Played with lots of awesome bands, some of whom are on hero worship level

The Bad

- Getting fucked over by uni (hence the course switch)
- No job
- And therefore, no money
- Not been to enough gigs as an audience member
- Haven't practiced the keys/bass enough
- There've been some health problems with my fianceé and her mum that are worrying to say the least

The Ugly

- My insomnia's back with a vengence
- Seeing your guitarist streak from his tent along a beer garden to dispose of a condom at about 3am while tripping a security light/camera after making far too many bad, bad noises and then finding out he'd dumped it on the barbeque bit that was being used the next day (I guess the burgers were a bit salty!)

Oh, Figrid I want your fucking amp.

Yeah but I have an angry wife pushing me to class so... I have no choice.

The Good:
- Me and my family went two times to Turkey this year on holiday. first we were 1 month. Then 1 month home, and then we went down to be there in 2 weeks.
- I went to see Iron Maiden with a friend in Trondheim in July. Fucking awesome and first time on such a big concert.
- Really started to work out this year and exercise. Think it began in late January. Before that I only worked out like 2 and a half hours a week.
- I'm sure there is more...

The Bad:
- My father has been a moaning asshole this year and always wants my sister and I to come visit him... I don't wanna spend time around people who lie, cheat and steal.
- Due to problems within the family I can't be in touch with my cousin.
- I've lost a bit of the contact I used to have with some of my friends.
- I'm sure there is more...

The Ugly:
- I've been in to funerals this year.
- Unfortunately, I think there's more here too...
