Dead on. Nothing mind-blowing yet just enough progression and sheer awesomeness to make it amazing.

Great review of a great record. This track is total madness. The weird riffs make me feel uneasy. It's a very challenging song, but it actually has a few hooks to keep your attention. Awesome. This band never ceases to impress me.

Makes me think of Ved Buens Ende having sex with some technical dm. Great track.

Doesn't seem to be available in the UK yet? Think I'll buy this when it is.

Am not familiar with SVEST at all... is it worth getting the split or just the DsO side?

Also, I can't agree enough about the gregorian chanting.

I wished I could say something more constructive but it is simply too awesome.

Edit: So at the 14 min. mark how do they do those weird sounding riffs? Just when I think I got this song, I find something new. I need to listen to DsO for an entire week and maybe I'll actually catch at least a third of just how awesome they are.

Imo most of their riffs are completely unrelated to music theory as we know. I think their chords are pretty randomly found but used in place so they sound awesome.

You know how you sometimes hit the strings randomly and something noisy yet scary comes out? I think that's what they do lol. I dunno.

About that riff in 14 min. I think it might be some weird effect that is played with a little. I think they do that a lot too.
