yeah, this for me too. i haven't seen any of my high school friends since like... April so i think that's pretty much over. i'm not sure if it's that bad of a thing because we didn't have much in common.

do you guys have any new years resolutions? so far all i've come up with is to write a song i like the next day, and otherwise improve at playing bass. mainly, i'd like to be better at playing, and learn more about, chords.

The Good:
Got my business up and running with my dad.
Went to Montreal and saw Iron Maiden, it was the best trip ive ever had.
Turned 19 this year(legal drinking age). Obvious reasons of win here.

The Bad:
When the transmission went on our ambulance and we gave up a couple runs to the competition.
My best friend, Eric, and I have not been hanging out nearly as much, I blame his new girlfriend.
Still no girlfriend for me.
Missed going to Cuba with my friend Blake for the 3rd straight year.
Got fired for the first time in my life.
Not been in touch with my high school friends. Yeah I talk to them on MSN but it's not the same.
Had to fire my cousin the day after christmas.

The Ugly:
Grandpa dying.
The bill for the transmission on the ambulance.

There was more bad than good this past year, but the good outways the bad. Heres hoping I can build some confidence up to get a some sort of a girlfriend.

The Good:
Work is going ok, apart from my boss (see below).
Started a savings account, for that distant day when I become totally independant and reclaim my manhood.
New awesome pc.
Started planning seriously for GTFO of town, country, and (maybe) continent.

The Bad:
23! Halfway to 46!
My boss is a bastard, as he proved repeatedly over the course of the year.
Still no lady, but I haven't exactly been very outgoing this year.
Failed a law exam, and realised how much I hate fucking law anyways.

The Ugly:
Depression, yet again. I think it's going to be a permanent part of my life.
Alcoholism takes hold. Maybe I'll try and kick the bottle in 2009, maybe not.

If I had any new year's resolutions, they'd be of the 'get drunk and watch all the Die Hards in a row' variety.

The Good:
-Started with History at university, which is basically what I've always wanted to do.
-Said 'fuck off' to bad friends and welcomed some of the people I really needed in my life
-Apparently I look pretty good since a couple of months because there is a remarkable increase of girls taking an interest in me.

The Bad:
-Lost a couple of family members and friends forever (as in death)
-Came very close to fuck up my relationship for someone I didn't like in the end

The Ugly:
-I am more agressive than I thought.
-Had a near-death experience but didn't pay attention to it

The Good:
Proposed to long time girlfriend, and she said yes!
Started getting serious about moving forward with my career in Graphic Design.
To wit, I got a new job that I enjoy very much.
Finally paid off my car after 5 long years.
Saw Testament, Motorhead, Black Sabbath w/Dio, and Judas Priest live back in the summer. That's 4 things off my lifetime to-do list. It was without a doubt the best concert experience I've ever had.

The Bad:
Getting laid off earlier in the year, but I had grown unhappy there anyways.
No prospects of advancing my career any further in this crappy town. I really need to get out of here.
Really need to lose some weight.

The Ugly:
Working two jobs over the Holiday season to be able to afford gifts. I'm worn out, and Best Buy employees are lazy.

The Good:

Became more sociable, and made some new friends this year.
Discovered a ton of new music.
Aced my exams! Yay!
Started writing for this noble institution of course.
Saw Opeth and Cynic.

The Bad:

Developed an unhealthy obsession with someone, who I'm still not over, rather pathetically.
Found out that exposing yourself to young ladies, even when asked, can backfire horribly.
Picked up a nasty little tobacco addiction, which I'll try and kick sometime in the new year.
Been plagued by bouts of depression, which have got worse towards the second half of the year.

The Ugly:

Nothing really awful has happened to me this year, thankfully.

All in all this has been one of the best years of my life, actually. Here's to 2006!

Well... 2008 was the best year in my life so far...

good:

- Got into a Croatian National Rowing team
- Finally made some normal friends, and not just occasionally hanging around with some assholes
- Got much better at rowing and respect in the croatian rowing scene
- I've been to lot's of gigs this year, and some big bands like: Whitesnake, Iron Maiden, Korpiklaani
- improved in school

Bad:

- I haven't been on a Sodom gig due to sport obligations
- Judas Priest and Death Angel canceled their gigs
- Because I'm now a professional athlete I live under glass bell, can't do shit without coach's approval

Ugly:

- Because my father is big time politician in Croatia, lot's of people instantly expect that I'm filled with money and they frown when I refuse to pay them a drink
- Because I refused "to throw with cash around" lots of people hate me now

It happens when you do too little physical work, the best cure for it is hard work. Join a gym or something do some sport or whatever and when you come home exhausted you will fall asleep the moment you touch the bed.

More than anything, 2008 was a year that made me realize my life is changing.

The Good:
Graduated High School
Got into college w/ good music program, and with all the scholarships I'm getting, it's kinda like I'm getting paid to go to school.
More bass skillz

The Bad:
Fallen out of contact with a few good HS buddies
Still no job; I'll be in desperate need of a lot more money if I wanna go to Berklee.

The Ugly:
Grandma died

The year came with the good and bad, but that's life, I suppose.

Had the same situation last year it was so amazing. Bought a laptop, a computer and fixed up my car all by not flunking out of college.

Yeah, scholarships are awesome. And there are so many of them too. I need to just start taking advantage of as many them as I can.

I usually do exercises before I go to sleep and after I wake up, but it usually doesn't help me sleep. The first time I had it I played basketball a lot :S.

Gonna try getting to bed a few hours before I usually do and see how that works though. At least it's an on/off thing with me.
