Great review Thomas this album is fucking essential and even although i know that you could download it for free on their website i encourage everyone to buy it as it isnt that difficult to find and its well worth it, on the other hand everyone should go to their website and download their 2005 demo especially the retro thrashers, this is how thrash metal is done on modern times.

I've got a few things to say.

First, you have never heard Rainbows Kill the King? Shame, shame on you.

Second, Gammacide also released their only album in 1991. That should be in your miny list. I can think of others...

Thrid, this should be a classic.

Heavy, fast thrash with blastbeats? Yes. From Texas even. Everything is bigger and better in Texas.

Great review of a great album.
However there is one small mistake:

Three members remain in Victims of Deception:
Dave Godfrey and Dave White are one and the same person :) The guy just started to use his real father's last name :)

Honestly, this is probably my favourite thrash album at this point. Dave White's vocals are among the best in thrash metal. The riffs are well written and more importantly the songs are well written; no other thrash song quite builds up momentum as well as Heathen's Song (which I know was written way before this album, but this still is the definitive version), or has quite as great a chorus as Opiate of the Masses, etc... Lee Altus and Piercy are on fire for this one, with excellent solos and harmonies. They're probably my second favourite guitar duo after Tipton and Downing. And finally, this album just kicks ass, but in what I find is a very thoughtful way (and I know that sounds weird, and I can't quite explain it).

And I like the cover of Kill the King better than the original, and considering that the original was done by RAINBOW, that says quite a lot.

98/100

Could you describe this as a less extreme Dark Angel? Sounds like that to me. It's pretty good after 1.5 listens.
