Very good review. I feel the same about the album. I like how every song seems to have it's own personality. Too many thrash albums sound like one continious song. Hordes of Choas is a really dynamic and solid thrash album.

The only thing I would disagree with is "Destroy What Destorys You" is one of my favorite tracks on the album.

I've had a chance to listen to this album and it's very good. I feel they have re-captured their classic style with the last three albums. This album reminds of Coma of Souls meets Extreme Agression.

That's exactly my biggest issue with thrash... but I must say Kreator is one band I've always had a soft spot for. I don't think they'll reach the level of their early days anymore but I loved Enemy of God and this one is just as good. The only gripe I have is the production... the mix just sounds odd. Either it's my promo or the drums are way too loud and bury the rest at times.

Was that a dig at new Destruction? 'Cause DEVOLUTION was awesome.

So was this review and album. Hordes of Chaos is much better than both Enemy of God and Violent Revolution. I can't wait to see Kreator with Exodus this April.

Still waiting patiently for this to come in the mail...

Glad to see many of our forum thrash specialists and aficionados agree with me (for the most part, and for the part that they don't shows that slight differences in opinion constitute individual tastes).

Not a long time fan or anything but I did pick this up and really enjoy it! I am really impressed with Kreator's sense of melody. I was worried that this might be a bit too heavy for my tastes but there is a nice balance between aggression and melody. They really make good use of twin guitar harmonies which I eat up. Good song writting too. Color me Impressed....

That's not really very true, engineers go to great leaps and bounds top make an album easy to listen to. If they didn't 99% of all al;bums would be "too heavy" I've heard a few albums like this, and yeah, it wasn't the music's fault.

You took that way too deep.

I meant that more as a joke than anything.

I just got this today.

Um...wow.

Still just heard it once, but man. I can only disagree wholeheartedly with anyone who thinks the thrashing on here is anything less than awesome.

Radical Resitance fucking shreds.

Also, Mille has a certain way of making even the most cliched lyric sound like an awesome sing-a-long. For example...

ABSOLUTE MISANTHROPY, ABSOLUTE MISANTHROPY.....I CAN'T WAIT FOR YOU TO DIE! :dio:

Awesome.

Yes, thrash album of the year, of course.

Yep, best Kreator album since Coma of Souls. They've reduced the Gothenburgness, and what they have included actually works; unlike on Enemy of God, which was oversaturated with incompetent melodic death. And they have a nice mixture of thrashy energy, good riffs, and catchiness, just like in the old days- who can't headbang to "HORDES OF CHAOS! HORDES OF CHAOS! EVERYONE AGAINST EVERYONE, CHAOS!" and sing along at the same time? Good on Kreator.

I still haven't listened to it... Of course, what I wanted to say, was Thrash Album of the year (IMO) between the thrash record I've listened.

I can't think of any other thrash album for this year. I haven't heard the new Artillery, and the only other album that comes to mind is Warbringer.

So my top 5 so far...
1. Kreator - Hordes of Chaos
2.
3.
4.
5. Warbringer - Waking into Nightmares

I like the Warbringer, but not enough to put it right after Kreator. What albums am I missing?
